    Rewards and Recognition: Work Question

So, I recently got a promotion at work, which includes extra responsibility and pay SWEET!
My new job title is "Rewards and Recognition Specialist", and part of my job is to come up with some simple ideas that help people get noticed for hard work.
So, I need some help: our budget is about $100 (That's all).
A Couple I have come up with already, tell me what you think:
    1) "Coupons" that you can get to give to a manager or lead to do a job you were assigned but dont really want to do
    2) Plain old Jamba Juice/Starbucks gift cards
    3) A Board where people can be nominated for doing extra work.
    4) Staff BBQ/Party

sorry to hate but it sounds like you have one of those fake happy go lucky jobs... like you must be in customer service..lol

at my job..you dont get rewarded for shit.. you either work or dont get paid

here is an idea.. how about a full day off paid... that is equivalent of about 11 / hour work day.. sounds like a winner to me .. paid day off

The best incentive, is to beat them if they don't perform better.

#1 is a bad idea. Who wants workers that don't want to do their job. #2 and 4 are good but cost money. #3 just sounds lame.

How about this: reward workers by letting them know that they are valued as an employee and that not everyone can do that job (even if they can).

Also just being nice to everyone at your workplace is a good idea too. Nothing improves morale and productivity more than working with cool people. The people at my work are all so cool and relaxed that it makes the day go by so quick and everyone has a good time ripping on each other and playing jokes.

Office parties are a good idea though. Especially if it's on the clock. But at my work they have occasional poker nights at the dealership and its good times.

Making their jobs more fun and less serious so they enjoy it more is the best thing you can do.

I appreciate the good feedback from you guys.

All the rest of you are assholes and can go choke on a cock.

                      Seriously though. Go Die.

But, it is not like this is Office Space where everyone needs to have more "Flair"... it is more like all the people who work their ass off, like me, are sick and tired of making 50 cents more per hour than people who aren't doing shit, and not getting recognized.
I think the people who suggested just saying "Good job." are on to something, I mean, who doesn't like getting a little recognition for hard work?

How about good head from one of the hot barista chickies?

That'd sure help me tolerate a shitty foodservice job a little better

I'd say hard working employees should get a day off with pay.

                          ...adjust accordingly

seriously i think that creates tension.. especially in an office cubicle environment...i hate fucking cubicles..

this one guy got recognized for being the brown nose of the team.. and every one hated him after that...

i seriously disliked him even more after he got recognized for his brown nosing..er... hard working
