    your car build time

how long did it take yall to get your car to where it is today?

im talking about the guys with the swaps or stuff already done to their f22's. like port and polish, turbo's or stuff like that.

-note: not talking about some JDM side maarkers or just an intake. lol

Well aside from me gettin into a mix of bad people like the first person who did my swap for me. Me gettin fucked over by other shops and little shit like that here and there it took me to get around to where i am to weed out all the bad bullshit and misconceptions and confusion about 4 and a half years and im still learning more and more about this car. Which is good for me being that I work on it by myself and have been for the last 4 years with a little help here and there. Dont go for the okiedoke and what these magazines tell you nowadays thats how you really get thrown off.

its been an ongoing journey since my senior year in highschool... fall of 02. so almost 4 years. ive switched between a few cb7s along the way, but the knowledge and parts i gained and collected along the way add up to what i have now (well, WILL have, once i put it all back together)...

I've had my car for about 5 years. The H22 was my first real mod, 3 years ago. So yeah... 3 years, 2 paintjobs, 2 other failed projects, 3 sets of wheels, 1 hood, 3 stereos, 2 sets of headlights, 2 valve covers, and 4 changes in plans later, my car is where it's at... and nowhere near done!

all happened within a year...swapped out motor because i got a bangin deal on a brand new f22a6, now doing a headswap because i like to spend money.

however it is slowly coming to a halt because i gotta save up for a room down south.

kinda sad actually because i had big hopes for the ITB's, cams and the whole shit.

Bought my EX coupe, 3 months later got the H swap and goodies. Slowly worked on it on and off for 6 months with a 240 fastback DD. Finished it, blew the clutch and let it sit for another 6 months while I wasted money on Nissans. Sold everything and used the H-Accord as a DD for quite a few months. Picked up my DX 4dr and sold my H-Accord. Swapped in my spare A6 motor and trans one night and removed all the accessories and stuff. Saved turbo parts for ~2 months about. Boosted it in 4 days and now I'm romping on her day in and day out.

            I'm debating what's next...

so anywhere from like 6 months to 4 years. thats what i would expect from import tuners. for some odd reason i hav the thought in my mind that all this has to be done in like 3 months. knowing good and well that i cant do all of that stuff at once. i aint got the money for one. lol

then i have to force into my skull that u cant rush a car build up like that. i did that last time and spent all my money on the performance but forgot about the tranny. 2nd gear was about goene(it was an auto)

You have been defeated by a car with child locks, how embarassing...

If you have the right amount of cash and/or know the right people/places, you can do alot in a very short time. I think those who have H'd and turbo'd their cb7's have had the money and probably couldve saved more but just wanted it done and didnt feel like waiting any longer(IMO)
