    Powered slide/parked last night

after hydroplaining (dont kno if i spelled it right but anyway)
over the years sense ive been driven, i really have a good handle on vehicles.

well i always wanted to attempt a power slide or a mini drift...lol

so i did yesterday and damn i wish i had a shot of it.

some might call it different but to me....its powersliding.

i was approaching a parking space( pull in type)
so i say, what the hell, theres a car 2-3 spots over, i can do this.
so i gas it and at the last minute pull the e-brake and wipe the steering wheel in the same direction the back end was gona go and............
sure nuff the back end broke loose and was going side ways
    i was like shit.....
power slide right into the parking space perfectly also.

sometimes u have to have a little fun.

Awesome! I'd love to try that. I'm afraid of breaking something... I've prelaced 2 axles already, one just recently. I don't want to do it again!

I think there is a difference between powersliding and drifting, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. They both involve sliding sideways.

The closest I ever came to doing it was when I was going around a bend near my house in the rain. There was a minivan coming up to a stop sign that kinda leads out into the road just after the bend, and it looked like he was trying to get the jump on me (run the sign to get in front). I, being a spitefull ass, accelerated into the 20mph bend at about 45... turned the wheel, and did a small 4 wheel drift around the bend. When the road went straight again, I adjusted the wheel and I felt the tires catch just in time to keep me from sliding off the road into the minivan. From there, I continued to move as if my tired had never came loose. It was really cool, though stupid and dangerous!

Your experience was MUCH more intelligent...

ive done the same, it was a 90° right turn, i ended up facing to the left (spun 270°)... so i guess i wasnt good enough to keep it going straight again, OR going 60 aroudn a tiny bend was too much for my corolla's tires. very fun tho, drove the rest of the way to mcdonalds w/ my right leg shaking.

I tried to be cool once and slide onto my street...just a 90 degree e-brake spin so i'd be facing my street because there was so much snow in the ground...except brilliant me...yeah, i forgot to but the e-brake down to stop the spin, and ended up going 180 degrees and sliding back in to the curb (not fast, no damage) whoops...and needless to say I haven't tried again...

i know the leg shake cpmike and man does it make it hard to work the clutch pedal for a minute or two. for me it was a really big parking lot (turner stadium) and late at night (2am). so i'm going straight and pickin up speed (about 35-40) and then rip the e-brake up, floor it, let loose the e-brake, and then just try and control the car while it's sliding sideways. after about an hour of this i kinda started to the hang of it. about this time a security guard (i think....they usually drive golf carts and are almost no threat, not this time) in a Pontiac GTO comes flying out of now where, so my friends and i just haul @$$ through the parking lot, and for those that have never been there, leaving the parking lot at a high speed is not fun due to all the walkways throughout the parking lots. while they are all flat with the asphalt when you're going 50mph and you look ahead and see the asphalt change to brick real quick it can really scare the $h!# out of ya, well atleast it did me. after that rush thru the parking lot it wasn't over yet. the security guard kept chasing us even after he bottomed out and sent sparks flying at the street entrance. after one really long right 4 we had finally lost the guard and so we headed for another parking lot to enjoy the attributes of slightly wet asphalt. needless to say i had to stop at a gas station for a quick break (more like watch the my knees try to hit each other as much and as quickly as possible. after the shakes wore off it was more RWD drifting, 4WD drifting, and FWD sliding.
