Well, if you don't have ALL the proper tools and knowledge, then I recomend it.
in that case, id recommend buying the proper tools and gaining the proper knowledge. with what youd spend on shop labor, you can buy yourself some good tools, and youll have them and the knowledge forever, and will come in handy in the future (and save yourself money) time and time and time again... looks like this was his first time doing this, next time around he will learn some new tricks and be able to do it more efficiently.

I agree. and I too have attempted some strange things in my garage. I am just saying that little things like break jobs and such. Take it to a good reliable shop (no tone thats going to rip you off).
Now don't get me wrong. Doing things yourself is the best way to learn but you need to have the proper tools. I know tools can be VERY expensive. I don't know. I guess I just look at things differently. I have always looks at things in a "be safe" kinda way. Would rather spend a little $$ then to loose an arm or leg.
