    Wolfenstein 3D Fans..

Ok, here's my situation. I'm at my parents house up in Ohio for the rest of the week since I decided to take a small vacation away from Florida.

My old bedroom is basically the same as it was when I moved out 3 years ago. I have an old computer down there that we purchased when I was in middle school, so lord knows it's old.

It's a Compaq 100 MHZ, 16 meg ram, 1 gig hard drive, Windows 95.. very old. Now, since it's running a DOS based version of Windows and DOS based sound card drivers, all the old games play perfectly on there.

Wolfenstein 3D, Doom 1 & 2, Duke Nukem 3D, C&C.. and so on. None of them play very well on my dual core AMD machine.

I was reading on a few websites about Duke Nukem 3d, and it shows there was a flame thrower and a few other guns that I didn't see.

    http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare...weapons_2.html

How many versions were there? The graphics on the game pictured there look COMPLETELY different than the ones in the game I'm playing downstairs. Maybe the Macintosh version was different and they were just showing that? I'm stumped on this one..

.. on a side note, no one has a FULL copy of Spear of Destiny do they? I'm shipping the old computer down to Florida just so I can play those old games when I'm bored. As Mike, AccordWarrior knows, I'm always talking about old memories such as my Accord, old computer games, and so on.. so this is something extremely cool that brings back memories for me.

All of you old computer guru's.. give your input and knowledge here. Thank you.

I only played the shareware versions so I probably wouldn't be much help. My buddy had the full version of Duke3D. We grabbed it off his friend's BBS. Remember those? haha, those were definitely the good old days. Screwing around all summer, no job, no worries...

    sigh...

Adam which C&C do you have?

I love the first one it has been announced on April 20,2006 that Westwood has been in the works of another Command & Conquer game called the Tiberium Wars.

Still one of my all time favorites along with Red Alert.

DOSBox is a good program for playing old games on your newer pc.

I miss the pure days of gaming.
        Hi, I'm Shippo and I have a problem. I keep buying CB7's.

Henry, I had them all.. but right now it's just the normal one. I had C&C: Counter Strike which was pretty cool.

Like accordme93 said.. back when I was 10 & 11 years old it was the good shit. We would sit at home when my parents would go out to dinner and play Doom and Wolf 3D all night. I think we all were raised in a good generation, well until now with all the political shit going on, but we have seen most of the technology transitions.

486 to Windows 3.1, to Windows 95, all the way to Vista now.. Xbox 360.. it's all crazy.

I just like looking back on my past and knowing that I can still play these games and such.

I'm just curious about the Wolf 3D thing and the extra stuff that isn't in the version I have.

Ha yeah man I found the site where I can listen to all the tracks from the Command & Conquer games.

It is kinda funny though to look on your past time as a gamer.

I was I had a working copy, they just recently came out with a bundle pack with all the Command & Conquer series.

Hey I was just playing Red Alert 2 this morning.

I can still remember playing Wolfenstein v1.0 on a 386 hooked to a CGA monitor. Ah, the memories (of a game I never beat).

I bet NONE of you ever beat Doom 1.. it was impossible to beat the ending level of the game where it was a room full of monsters and complete darkness.

Even you could go in there with god mode on, but you would never get out of there.

Wolf 3D was one of the first computer games I played and liked. At that time it was all about the NES and SNES had just come out. I remember playing all the Apogee games like the first two Dukes, Commander Keen, Cosmo and of course Doom. Then the CD-ROM games started coming out like Mad Dog McCree or whatever it was called and also that detective game.

I never got into the real time strategy games. And remember when Netscape v.1 came out? haha that was the shit.

I couldn't to save my life, well maybe because it was a demo disc that I had at the time lmao.

But I later had the full version given to me by a friend and I played in all the levels, scared the crap out myself playing at night.

Yeah I remember Apogee when they came out with a WolfenStein esque game called the Rise of the Triad and Raptor (that game was the shit).

And 3D Realms produced a game called Terminal Velocity a flying shoot em up game.

God I'd sit there and play for hours..

Theres an internet site thats been advertising called Game Tap.com they claim to have every game ever made availble on the pc.

Screw WoW I'd say someone bust out Command & Conquer and start a clan. Playing online was so fun.

                          :edit:

Actually 3D Realms is a spin off from Apogee damn..

i bought the demo version of terminal velocity before it came out, i was at a computer fair and they had the demo playing and it looked so damn cool that i had to buy it, it was 3 floppies, i still have it. never ended up buying the full version when it came out, the demo was fun enough.

and yeah, 3D Realms was apogee trying the 3d thing

... anybody play Tyrian? Captain Stryker? Inner Space? Outpost 2? Secret Agent Man? Xxargon? Jazz Jackrabbit?

Man I had no idea i had the demo cd rom and it came with a FPS Star Wars game at the time.

I never played any other pc games besides Command & Conquer series and Doom.

I havent played Doom 3 but I heard the hardware requirements are pretty high, My friends built powerful computers just so they could play Doom 3

Mike do you know where I could get full versions of these games?
