    Blink 182: Miss You

I cannot find a working version of this song anywhere on the internet and I want to add it to a CD. If someone can help me find a copy that works, I will greatly appreciate it. Either e-mail me it, or send it to me across AIM or just host it somewhere.

    Thanks a lot!

Yeah, their new album is much different, although I'm not so sure how i feel on it and i've been listening to it forever...I've been a Blink fan forever, and its like as much as i think the new album shows a lot of growth and maturity on their parts as musicians there's still a part of me that misses the Dude Ranch era punk...I think its just I've always like Mark's singing better than Tom's and now that Tom's trying to be all indie with his look and the way he delivers lyrics its a bit irritating, but overall the album is good...i got a chance to catch them live in December...they're not as funny as they used to be live, but their musicianship is getting much better

got a problem with pop punk and/or emo? just because you dont like it doesnt mean its bad. and as for bands being "sell outs" there is a reason why they become popular and its not because they suck. People are always putting down bands like green day and the like. Just because they went mainstream doesnt mean anything. I dont understand why people dont want there favorite bands to suceed in life...

thats just my rant on music....[/rant]

                [my rant]
i do have a problem with pop punk, however i do listen to some stuff that is considered emo. i never said anything about selling out either. and popular opinion means nothing. sure, i want to see my favorite bands in life do well, but i dont want to see them become trends and fads, just the next cool thing for some jackoff to like just because everyone else does. i think there is much more to music than it just being a trend, and to see it reduced to such bothers me.
and dont anyone take my talking as telling anyone not to listen to it, as last time i checked, i was able to express my opnion freely, as are you. and i never said not to check it out, and i was inquiring into whether or not they still told poop and fart jokes, as i hadnt listened to them in quite some time.
and while that last post there might not have been addressed to me, i feel like it was intending towards me, so im just clarifying my points here.
and i brought up them going emo because if they are, i dont see that as truely who they, and i would consider it to be just that they are going with the flow here with the rise in popularity of emo bands like dashboard confessional and the get up kids. I just dont understand drastic changes in style, and while it can be a true heartfelt change to that style, more times than not its just record company influence in order to get more money. Even jewel did this, going from all these acoustic songs about saving your soul to all of a sudden being this hot momma using voice synth and trying to be a sex symbol. accoutic guitar to black dress with fireworks and ass shaking. i know jewel isnt emo or punk or whatever people classify whatever to be, but its just an example to me of how artists do change under influence of the record companies.
on a final note, i do still listen to dude ranch from time to time, but after the whole box car racer ordeal happened, the first signs of an emo induced vagina appeared, and i took heed and left the sinking ship. regardless i am gonna check out the new stuff, and see whats up these days.
                [/end my rant]

Well, as far as Blink's new stuff...although they area kinda going more emo enduced that I'd like...I give them credit for trying something new and not putting out another take off your pants and jacket...but I dunno, i've always liked them...maybe its just becasue i play guitar and their stuff is easy to play and girls like it...but i mean you see people bash bands like blink and green day claiming they're sell outs...well i think they do deserve some credit as trailblazers...i mean before them there weren't any other bands on the radio that sounded like they...i mean if you look at how many bands have thanked blink in their album...i read an interview with randy from finch, he said if it wasn't for blink he wouldn't be in a band, and finch sounds nothing like them...i think its just blink got popular because they had really simple songs...the new album was them stretching their legs musically...and as far as the boxcar stuff, yeah i didn't really like it, but i mean give them credit for doing a side project...its just the pop punk thing is getting tired and blink has been losing their credit with it because of other bands out there that copy their style...no one realizes that blink really did help bring it mainstream after the initial wave of dookie era green day died down...i mean i'm not denying that blink isn't pop, but i mean if you look at their progression...its not totally illogical...i mean every cd they did pre-enema had a really poppy radio song on it...even buddha had an early version of carousel that they still play live...but i do hate when bands get pigeonholed as one hit wonders...the ataris were victims of that...once they did the boys of summer cover, they were done...even though i thought they did a good job...so i mean yeah you can bash a band like blink...but if you look at how much they've influenced the music culture in the punk/pop punk/emo areas...you can't dismiss them as nothings...thats just my two cents on this issue...i mean i listen to a lot of heavier stuff now, but i still have a place for blink just because they were one of the bands that got me into what i'm listening to now...

hmmm, i gotta admit i didnt read all the posts, just kinda skimmed cuz i dont have 30 minutes to read some of those lol

but i gotta say, i's lead singer of a local punk, scream-o band and honestly, i like Blink, i think theyre a good band in their own but i think the only real talent lies in Travis. The guitar parts are really simplistic and honestly doesnt take more than a junior high student with a fender and a pair of DC's to emulate them.

but where punk shines is in the sound, the way the music moves and the non depressive energy. much of the greatness coming out now lies in bands such as The Used, Story of the Year, Thursday, Blindside or any other so called "Scream-O" punk band, where they prove that a band doesnt hafta come out and talk about sex (they dont get), drugs (they dont do), or pretend that their lives were tough and now theyre pissed off or all "hard" ( *read* Trapt ) Anything great can be accomplished in a band that just goes out and plays for the fun of it, and has a good time playing with their bandmates, because that sound will come through in your music.

i dont even know if all of what i just said has anything to do with what you all were talking about, but just my two cents.
