I used to have a bmx bike. I wanted to race, but never ended up doing it. I like to ride through trails and stuff. Unfortunately where I am, there are little to no trails, and when I do have a chance, its too hot. Another downside is that my family has 3 accords and a civic. And all of the places are not w/in biking distance so its a pain to load bikes into a car. I dont have a specific bike, but we have 5 mountain bikes in our garage. I hope to find some extra time to do biking, maybe I will find somewhere up in college to go.

to anyone who is kinda inspoired by this, if you do actually end up getting a bmx bike, dont by like a haro or a gt or something, if you want a good quality bike. try to by a bike from a rider owned bike company...

the comparison is this, you go to autozone and by some weird ass companies aftermarket parts, and get shitty quality right? well if you go and by like mugen and spoon, and all those brands you are prolly getting a high quality product?

thats the same as if you by a mongoose, its gonna fuck the fuck up on your ass, and you will break the shitty forks or something, but if you by like a terribleone or a federal or something, you are gettiung a high quality bike.

www.empirebmx.com out of austin is a bmx mailorder tht carries all the high quaity parts. or www.hardcoresportz.com that is the shop i ride for but i dont think the website had been touched in a logn time.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Haro and GT went wayyyy downhill in the industry after being bought out by some bigger names (which will go unsaid now). Pick up an issue of BMX Plus or Ride and look at some mailorder companies. S&M is a really good BMX company, really good quality

When did they get bought out...I haven't been into riding since like 7th-8th grade, and when I picked up my Haro, it was still pretty rare to find another one of them in town...so that had to have been like early 98, late 97...i dunno, but i remember at that time GT's and Haro's were still pretty sweet bikes...oh the memories...

I know for a fact that GT was bought out by RoadMaster, and you will see them in WalMart if you haven't already. That's what happened to Mongoose as well. I am not sure, but i think that Haro was bought by Specialized, but don't quote me on that.

S&M, DK, Redline, Specialized and Trek are still pretty good names

i used to own a bmx freestyle bike... never really got into it though... i just rode it and i knew how to do a few tricks on the rear pegs, but nothing crazy...

cpmike... i always wanted one of those gyro bikes... with the spinning handlebars... i always wanted to do the 360 spins off of wheelies.

here it is.. it was a trek "submission"..

i had rear and front pegs, but i loaned my front pegs to my friend (he put them on his rear) and his bike got stolen a couple days later

anyway... if you are so inclined, you can probably get a gyro installed on your bike at a bike shop. last i remember they had a Gyro-2 out...
