Poll: Do you drive with your headlights on?

Well, do you? I for one do . I looked around to see if there was a poll already, but I didn't see one.

It seems like here in my home town (almost) every CB7 I see is lit up all the time.

If the weather is crappy, yes. Anything to notify any ignorant drivers that I'm behind them. Also, we have some dangerous 2-way highways with no medians here so there are signs advising the use of headlights during daylight hours in those areas.....

at night i obviously drive with my lights on, during the day the DRL's do their job..

Where I live, it's the law to drive with your lights on if your windshield wipers are on... plus, my car kinda blends in with the blacktop when it's wet out... so then, yes. Otherwise, not during the day. Anyone who drives with their brights on day and night deserves whatever they get... and someday some irritated motorist WILL decide to play chicken and run them off the road (I can't say I haven't swerved at people who don't turn their brights off when I flash them...)

i got into the habit of flicking on the headlights whenver i start the car. i usually use them up until like 10-11 AM, and start using them again when it gets after 4-5 PM. its safer, so why not? theres a reason why insurance companies give discounts for cars that come with DRLs.

nah..i like to conserve every ounce of horsepower i have..
-you actually lose about 1-2 hp's with your lights on...so i dont run with them on during the day..unless its inclimate weather..

-of course i run them only @ night.....but the loss in hp..is made up for by the cooler air temperature being sucked into the engine...and the car runs stronger than the day time..and overides the 1-2 hp loss.

I think driving with your headlights on is EXTREAMLY safe. It's just an extra precaution so that people can see YOU better. It's worth the "money" (I don't even know if you can put a number on it) to drive with them on.

hahaha..... somebody did a dyno test with electrical components ....
ie having your stereo on....and headlights...and they found there was a 1-2 hp loss..im trying to find it now

More electrical system load = added alternator work = more hp to turn alt.....
