    Weekend car plans?

I was wondering if anyone else has stuff they are doing to the cb7 this weekend. I got quite a bit of work to do...dunno if I'm gonna get finished with it all. So far I have:

    -Wash/Clean inside and out
-Got a new hood, and im going to paint it black for now, cuz I dont have money for a paintjob, but my bent up hood is getting annoying and this ones paint is faded.
-Fiberglass/bondo the front of my fender cuz its bent up/paint so that doesnt rust.
-If header gets here, put that on along w/hi flo cat and new gaskets, extend o2 wires
-Fab up extra bracing for my manual seatbelts
-Bend up front bumper support to eliminate gap between headlights
-Fix radiator(only held in by the upper and lower hose, also need a real overflow tank instead of a coke can)
    -Wash engine
-Cut out inner fender to stop UCA from hitting it
-Put in new throttle cable since mines starting to rust
-Figure out clutch/tranny problem(bleed clutch and other troubleshooting crap)
-Start to make a center console
-Try to figure out what is causing my brothers 91 se to have jumping idle(wish i had his car... silver, black leather, perfect/soft besides rip on drivers seat, only 70k miles)

All that by Sunday night when I gotta drive 2 hours back here. Its also my 19th b-day Sat, so people will be over, and slowing my progress

So what are you doing this weekend?

dude, yer gonna do all that stuff on yer b-day?!

u need to relax on sat, then do what u can on sun and save stuff for next weekend. those things arent going anywhere.
    just my opinion.

Its a 2hour drive to my parents house...the only place where I can work on my car for now. And I wont be going back until about the 30th. At that time, I have to get all my stuff to head up to college and packed in the car by april 1st. So I dont have much time. I could run back over next weekend, but even though I get great gas mileage, the prices of gas are making me think twice about driving when I dont have to. So its all good...gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully next term I will have a place over here w/a garage, or an area to work on stuff like fiberglass.

My weekend plans are simple... Wash the car As long as it doesn't rain, anyway. I can't wax yet because of the new paint, sp I just have to keep it clean.

Spring break is starting after March 12, so I have plenty of plans then. Blackhousing the headlights, 9005 Silverstar conversion (hopefully), putting on a 5th gen lip, cleaning the hell outta the interior and engine bay (to the point of removing parts to clean around, under, behind, etc...) and possibly installing my old F22 alternator (since I believe my H22 one is going...)

I also plan on helping a few friends with their CB7 projects (and getting help from them as well! )

Well its 2:25am here, and Ive been working on the cb since ehh... 8 i would say. The used hood that I got was pretty faded, and has little rust spots. Only one 1/2 marble sized dent that I popped out. So I sanded it down, Shaved the washer nozzles, and Just primered it. I am just going to paint it black for now, because i dont have the time or the money or the care to get it painted to match. My front bumper and fenders will also be black after I get finished doing body work to them. So I'll have a little half and half car I got my gaskets, and hi flo cat, but hopefully the header will come tomorrow. *fingers Crossed* but hopefully sometime I will get to sleep. Not before the hood gets done being painted though.

hmm... this weekend im pretty busy... well its 3am and its technically saturday. at 11am jon (highrevs22) should be showing up at my door with my brand new stock 9293 EX lip i dont really have time to put it on right now... oh yeah i also took care of a problem with missing some pieces from my engine hoist (place forgot to give me the second box)

but come spring break on the 13th, im planning on starting my h22a swap, so thats gona be my main project if i get time with the bumper off, gonna put the lip on, adjust my headlights, paint the chrome trim around the JDMs, and install my JDM bumper pole, and finish blacking out my chrome trim around the windows. but we will see... i hope i can at least get the engine errorcode-free and running well by the end of the week

good luck with your crazy plans aero3685... looks like you have a ton of work to do!!

I have a dented hood as well. Had to look at it for 3 or so years. I'm very tired of it and now I see where the clear is starting to go. I HATE PEELING PAINT!!!

Which route do you think is cheaper. Getting a new hood and having it repainted or getting a carbon fiber hood? Just for fun I went to a body shop to get an estimate. A little over $2000! Fuck that!

Anyone have a Rosewood color hood they wanna sell? hehe

You can get a new hood for about 200 bucks. To paint it a stock color...or any color for that matter prolly will be about 75-150 depeding on where you go. You can get a good cf hood for about 400-450 shipped.

I got my new hood from Certifit... $43, primered black... I took the entire car to get painted the next day, so that was cool with me.

this weekend i had no time, so this is my week:

                      wash, wax exterior
-clean off water spots, claybar, polish, wax, and re-polish rims

clean interior mats, floor, seats, door pannels

paint side skirts black and wiper blades black.

wash engine bay and detail the bay.

                      oh and rotate tires.

spring time is here, and there is a car meet comming up this saterday. gotta make my car shine.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

                      Retro!

                      Hater
