i didnt have enough cash for lights.

haha but i have a built comp.

    1.8A GHZ p4
80GB UDMA ATA 100 hard drive (maxtor)
    screwed up 48x burner
    old ass floppy drive
    100mb zip drive
    250 something DDR ram
Gigabyte motherboard with raid 845pe intel chip (sis sucks)

i paid 560 total, it was on a budget but i did a damn good job.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

This is the 3rd computer i've built. I'll be overclocking the 2.4c to about 3.2-3.4 ghz as soon as i get my new memory and better cooling. If i get way better cooling, i'm shooting for 3.6+ ghz.

back in the days of 1.2's, my comp was the shiznit... i had a 8x10 window w/ nuclear applique w/ blue inside... ive since upgraded, and got a new case:

        Biostar M7NCD mobo (recent)
        Athlon 2400+ (333 fsb) (recent)
waiting on 1gb of PC2700 DDR (ordered and in the mail)
sony dvd-burner (one of their first best ones)
        generic DVD-ROM
        radeon 7200ddr
        sb live platium 5.1
        100gb WDC ATA133
        30gb WDC ATA133
all rounded cables and nice routing... empty inside

and i got my super optical 5 button, dual scroll wheel mouse... ITS AWESOME for editing, and my Mitsubishi (DSM lol) 17" semi-flat CRT, at 1280x1024x32b.

my old comp and case w/ window are still mainly assembled, but im waiting on the memory... i already got slackware linux installed, its my server got an active KVM all set up (on top of new pc)

i still havent gotten a chance to transfer the old window into the new case, but im considering not, so i will have a window to install in my car when i eventually make my custom computer mount in my trunk for my future carPC. but thats another story.

edit: oh and those orange pieces of steel in the first pic... those are part of my cherrypicker for my engine swap

        semi-new

        old (server)

whats the point of having a custom computer if it doesnt look nice? personally i like the cold cathodes and window, if you got some badass internals why not show it?

hey ur comp is extremely similar to mine... cool. did you build it yourself?

looks like most people here built theirs... its cool that im not the only geek i always built my computers (couldnt tell u how many ive built), because i was too poor and young to work on a car.

I built mine like 2 years ago, so I forget everything in it...

PCchips mobo (I ordered something else, to purposely NOT get that... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM A COMPANY CALLED ACCUBYTE :LOL
                            Athlon 2400+
                            1gb DDR ram (I overkill, I think...)
                            120gb WD HDD, 7200 rpm
                            Generic DVD-rom, 16x, I think (or 8... i forget... it works!)
16x10x48 cd burner (or something)... It sucks. I need a new one.
                            nvidia 128mb GeForce4
TV card (sucks... the sound won't work anymore...)
5 speaker surrpound sound (Creative... nice system for $30 open box at Best Buy... best deal evar!)
Soundblaster Pro XGamer (came with games... Deus Ex was awesome )
and a whole lot of ghetto-rigged stuff... and a trashpicked case.
                            19" Viewsonic monitor (thanx mom!)

My HDD is making noise already, my cd burner won't burn on cheap cds, my dvd drive spins up soooo sloooowwwwlllyyy... and i'm sure i'm not using anywhere near the amount of ram i have. Still, it works for me!

i'm going to manually overclock it until it's unstable. I've been working with AMD for a couple of years and this is my first year with a pentium. Expensive, yes. But totally worth it. I've seen the 2.4c's overclock to 4.0 ghz. And i believe i saw a 3.0 or 3.2c overclocked to an unstable 5.0 ghz. crazy huh? i gotta get some money first. pictures are coming soon.
