    Is this a scam!?

Flipping through my emails i got this one from somebody regarding about my car.
I got my car for sale on different sites, this is the first time i've
done this, so im not sure whos out there trying to play me.
Well, heres the email i got...

    **********************************

    Hello,

I am interested in purchasing your Vehicle. Get back to me with your
firm price if its still available. Whats the general condition of this
vehicle? Can you make yourself available for the shipping company when
they will come for the pick up?
I will be needing the address where the vehicle is located to determine
how much the shipping fee's will cost.

    Get back to me.

    Regards,

    Johnson.

That sounds quite sketch. I'd tend to shy away from that.

i would give him an address of a house a couple streets over, so he can "see how much shipping fees will be" and you can move on with the sale and see if its legit or not... and if it comes time to him actually buying the car, then give him (or just the shipping company, if its a real one) the final actual address...

idk if you read it, it sounds like it could be somebody really interested. usually the scams are like "i definately want it, but im going back home to blahblah so can i wire you the full amount plus 500?"

          or something.

doesn't look like a scam to me.....for sure not a good one.....what's he gonna do, come steal it?
exactly my thoughts. if you give him a location how is he going to "scam" you besides coming and stealing it? if he sends you money and you really get it, and a shipping company comes and takes the car, its not a scam

Johnson could be his first name... who knows...

I mean, look at Cadillac Williams... who the hell has a first name of Cadillac!

Or maybe his name is Aswipe (ahz-WEE-pay). Aswipe Johnson. I would go by Johnson then too...

But yeah, he doesn't need your address directly. Give him a zip. If he wants to come steal it, he can make a wrong turn and get lost in Camden. Serves him right! I wouldn't accept anything sketchy for payment though. Make SURE you have the money in hand before doing anything. Even a money order can be cancelled, believe it or not. Deposit whatever form of payment he gives, and make sure it hits your account fully before arranging any shipping.

I bought a car over the phone that was 1000 miles away. Give him/her your zipcode, get a down payment, and do this after getting the rest of the money and the car is going down the road.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.
