    older cars?

does anyone just like old cars? i have an addiction to older cars like 4thgen accord type years. many people would ask, why dont you just buy a new car?
well...new cars are possibly the worst investment in the world because the value cuts in half after 4-5 years. newer cars have so many sensors and bs, it is harder to modify.

i like older cars because a scratch or a ding here and there wouldnt make me break down and cry...ill just bring it in for a new paintjob!

last of all, i just like how they look..hella old school.

couple of cars i have in mind: FC, corollas (85-87), late 80's and late 70's celicas, Datsuns (especially the 510) and of course our cb7's. im sure i missed a car i like but whatever
    I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

I love muscle cars. Anything American and pre-1972. Up until I got my Accord, I was all about domestic sports cars. My list included Monte SS's and Buick Regal T-Types (a Grand National without the look). But alas here I am. However, one day I will get my crazy old muscle car .

I hear ya 100% man. To me, older cars are simpler, and simplicity is the only way to go in my book. The new cars have technology on their side, but god help you if you try to modify that sucker. You'd need to diable the alarm, move a fuse, hop on one foot AND sing Patsy Cline just to take the tire off.

On another note, most people fantasize about new cars. Hell, I fantasize about the S2k and the NSX (just to name a few), but I also find myself drifting to thoughts of an FC RX7 in my driveway. The lines of the car and the nature of the beast at the time are just incredible. It's hard to explain really. Maybe it's because I grew up wrenching on nothing but older cars. Hell, I'm hesitant to go near my mom's burban on account of all the sensors and shit.

Anyway, long story short, I love older cars as well. Not really into American muscle myself (unless you're talking about a 69 Fastback), but age is a defining characteristic, ya know what I mean?

yea i like late 80's to mid 90's and a few muscle cars, i just wish the accord was AWD, and that is the only reason why i like the new impreza's the most. thats the only new car i would buy right about now. i have a 82 s-10 and a 87 mustang GT and 90 Accord....i'd say im somewhat "old Skool"

Older cars are a lot better IMO but i wouldnt mind owning a newer car. I like the older imports/muscle cars just because they have more potential than newer cars. Newer cars are tuned pretty well from the factory so you cant really mess around with them...Ex: S2k, ITR. I really like the Pontiac GNX from back in the day. But i wouldnt mind owning a new car if i could afford one.

I like some of the mid '60s cars, like the chevy Nova's/chevells/impalas/biscane and some other ones.

I own a '65 ford fairlane thats in bad shape. I was in the process of rebuilding it but now I just want to get rid of it.

I don't hear anyone talking about the 72 Skyline GTR. That car is the most underrated and under-talked about car. I am also a fan of the 57 chevy Bel-Air. Classic!!!

I've had a thing for old RWD Volvos, and of all damn things 1972/1973 Cadillac DeVilles like this one:
Former: 90 Accord EX Coupe, 93 10th Anniversary in Frost White

1985 Volvo 245 manual [IPD lowering springs, IPD sway bars, OEM Virgo wheels, 1977 quad round headlights, 1978 grill]
2001 Mazda B3000 SE 4x4 extended cab [stock except for CB radio]
2008 Ford Escape XLT [bone stock]
2015 Toyota Prius Three with solar roof [rear diffuser, Vision Cross wheels... cheaper than steelies!]

I like older Japanese cars...esp. from the 80s. It's really hard to fault all the new stuff cars come with now though (HIDs, more power, more solid chassis)...

This statement will really show my age, but...

The more chrome the better; bumpers, grill, headlight bezels, blinker trim, window trim, body line trim, tail pipe tips, and of course the rims. I'm not into huge rims with rubber band tires, but big chrome wheels mesmerize me. I just can't look away.

With the new vehicles I like that the computers are "smarter". Systems diagnosis is better, which makes it easier for me. Most of the time it's some emissions think that makes the SES light come on. Like not screwing the gas cap on tight enough, which lets fuel vapors out into the air. If I could have the money to do it I would do a PRO/STREET build. Something like a 67' TGO. Ya! That's right TGO not GTO. On the original "GTO" the "T" in the middle was larger than the G and the O. TGO= The Great One. But I would replace the go and the woh with new technology. 455 crate engine, race built trans, 4-wheel disk brakes. Lowered, with 18" chrome wheels, a dark color with metal flake in it, etc.
It really is a labor of love making a neglected CB7 with "normal wear and tear" into something worth being proud of.
