xbox help please

Ok well I have this modded xbox I have only had for like 2 weeks. Well i have been doing some research and I am finding some files. Now that I have some files I am having trouble to transfer them to my xbox. I can do it over the router. right??? Either I get the questions answered or I will ahve to wait till monday to talk to the guy that did my xbox. Oh well I thought I would give it a try here cause I am going crazy LOL

haha, sorry bro, i remember trying to help you through messenger, and we didnt get too far. I think the easiest way to do it is to get a dvd burner. their cheap at pc club

Hey thanks uh...2 people that repsonded LOL. I went and bought a DVD burner today I got a Sony dual layer 16x blah blah blah. I got it at best buy and the lady hooked me up and I got it for 89.99 WOOT WOOT. oh well I hope i can do this

did you get a harddrive put into the xbox? if you did, you could always rent games and download it to the xbox.

somewhere in the settings pages of the new dashboard you should be able to find out the IP address of the xbox, and what username and password are used...

i mean every dash and mod chip firmware is different, but its common for you to use an FTP client to log into the xbox's IP address from a PC connected to the same hub/switch/router as the xbox.

if you can find out, let me know which mod chip was used (also which version of it) and what dashboard was installed.

also, depending on who manufactured the DVD drive in your xbox, even after modding it may still refuse to read burned discs. it bothers the shit out of me because i have the crappiest Thompson one and to get it to read burned discs i need to swap in my PC's DVD drive temporarily... so buying a burner may not even help at all...

btw, i have lots of experience with modding xboxes and if you plan on using xbox live, ANY TIME YOU LOAD XBLIVE MAKE SURE THE MOD CHIP IS TURNED OFF ive had a friend get the xbox i modded for him blacklisted because he didnt listen to me

Can't stress that enough, althought I don't have a modded xbox, my good friend does...when you log on, microsoft has the rights to search your box, and they will find it. After that, you can forget about xb live, and potentially your xbox.

Hey thanks cpmike. I will hit you up on AIM to see if I can get some more help I am having trouble. Also I am using DVD+R I was advised to try DVD-R. I am so close w/ this stuff I am spending more money and almost everything on this project.

i have nothing against modding your xbox for better hardrives space, dvd stuff whatever, but if you need to cheat online to feel good or win or whatever you are a massive ho-monkey.

side note though - while playing Halo 2 i always get a kick out of the guys telling me to turn off my mods. i just have a regular old xbox from Target lol.

yea xbox online cheaters suck. I currently have 2 xbox's one for online and one modded to play massive games and emulators. Thanks for everyones help. I am trying to learn some computer stuff now too. I can work on cars so I think i can do some computer stuff. Oh well I need learn something some day.

Damn it I have to rant. I am really not getting this stuff. It seems so easy and I can see the stuff right in front of me but nothing. i have wasted numberous DVD disks trying to burn this stuff is really pissing me off. Why can't I get it damn it
