CD Burning help, I'm an idiot.

I'm a fool when it comes to all this crap. I got fustrated that I couldn't DL a working MOHAA crack and ISO so I bought the game yesterday at Best Buy for $20.00 yay!

So now I'm tring to burn a copy for a friend of mine but I can't make it work. I suck I guess.

I'm tring to use BlindWrite 5 and Alcohol 120%. Both programs where refered to me by other people. Now my CD-Rom is a Samsung SC-148A and my burner is a Sony CRX225E.

Well I try to copy from one to the other and it takes forever and I just abort it and when I use Alcohol 120% it starts dispalying that there are allot of errors in reading.

Is this because the disk is somehow protected? Anyone know how I can make a working copy of the original?

My machine is a Dell PowerEdge 400SC with a P4 2.26ghz running 512 megs of Crucial PC3200. With the above CD devices of course .

    Thanks for the help... again.

try to find a new copy of CloneCD... if u need help finding a reg key i can help u out there... but clonecd has worked well for me. when copying a copy protected game tho, it will often take an hour or 2... but make sure u save the ISO so u dont need to wait again. its cuz alot of commercial cd copier apps will stop the copy at the first read error- so they put alot, and thats a method of copy protection. if u wait it thru, it will often work (not 100% of the time tho).

i believe alcohol 120% is similar to clonecd... u just gotta wait for it to finish.

Ohhhh, Do you think it will reproduce a playable copy? I'd hate to leave this thing burning only to not have it work.

It also has allot of options for you to select and it gets confusing.

ive always let it finish, and alot of times it worked, but i tried a couple times and it never worked for The Sims. but u might as well try, if u wanna start it before u go to bed or something. it only takes a long time to read, then the normal few minutes to burn.

also itll say like estimated time remainig: 3 hours or something, till it gets half way, then it drops down to 5 mins. cuz it got past the read errors

CloneCD works.. I've never used Alcohol120% meself, so I can't say there.

I've always just had luck with Nero... Maybe my burner gets past the protection somehow.

There is a backwards way of doing it, but it also worked for me in the past. You can rip the game to an ISO using ISOBuster, and then "burn image' with Nero...

Well I used CloneCD version 4.0.1.6 that I got off Kazza. I also got a few other newer versions but I said let me try with this one and if it works I'll keep it.

It worked, I was able to play off the burned copy with no problems. Now if I could only find my damn permenant marker to label the CD!
