Partly true, but I was on the forum this afternoon, it's now late at night, and there's 8 pages already!
I think this problem is a lot like the imigration problem we have in this country now. Some chose to not even see the problem. Some of the "nuebies" gobble up the resources, start fights, and make the place look like shit. But others are happy to be here, and would gladly give a little in return. It's weeding out the a-holes and selfish cheapos that's the problem. And like immigration, you can't let everyone in. You have to be HARSH. You get one warning then you're thrown to the fishes!
I eleventh the pay-to-post idea. People could still view the posts to see that the forum is a great place and then they WOULD pay to join. I read a long time before I became a member, then I saw that this site is valuable so I joined. I still read more than I post, but that's me.
The pay period should be shorter than a year. Like quarterly. Maybe $10 every 3 months. $5 is too cheap!!! I don't think, though, you should pay to post in the classifieds. Even to weed out the scammers, it's great to have as many people and parts for that section, IMO.
I also like the idea of running contests with any extra money. That's another incentive to fork over dough.
And someone mentioned limiting sig sizes. For sure! I'm sick of a page loading and I jump down fast to read, but the images are still loading up.
And more polls to get everyone's ideas! Have a poll section only posted by mods.

sorry but i dont think this is a democracy for all the members to get in on..its more what steve is wanting to do and i know he still has all the members best interests in his thoughts. also the moderators will have a large say in the setup of the changes..etc.

but i am liking the premium membership idea. also a rating/warning system i know its kind of what we have now but what about displaying it on the acutal profiles and info whenever we post. and as far as people not being able to post things in the clasifieds.. i know that there are multiple members in certain areas. get someones email from their profile. email them, ask them if they would like to post a FS thread for you and you can do it that way. its not that hard.

All i gotta say is, $5 a year is not a problem for me, I do my best to contribute good info, pics, etc to the board. I havent donated anything yet due to the fact that at the moment i am about $1500-1700 in debt. But i think i could manage the $5 a year. Even tho i drive a CD5, this board has been very helpful to me since our cars are so similar. so here's a BIG to ATX and all the mods. Ya'll try hard i know, but its like trying to fit 5 lbs of shit in a 10lb bag. Do what you will, fee or no fee, im here to stay, i love this place.

all i have to say.. i'm down to keep this board going even with some of the people we have here. fuck them, i dont give a shit about them, but i do care about the people here who i look up to and see more of as a friend than someone i post with on a web board.

I don't know if this is possible, but maybe everyone could still post but those that haven't paid for membership would be banned on the first warning sign. Those that pay would be given more chances.

nope i have been jus reading all the imputs from the members of this site. and learning from them.
it is a shame we had to go this route but we gotta do what we gotta do.
it has been a Grueling journey and i have learned alot from u fine people.
