After being on energy drinks hard for the past two years (5 per week, 1 every morning before work, for little over two years) I noticed I was now suffering from chronic fatigue and low libido/testosterone. I bagan to suspect my vast intake of energy drinks (no brand in particular, something different every day. Always with huge amounts of sugar, caffeine, and taurine) To confirm, I decided to quit all manner of energy drink (except a coffee every day or two) and see what happens.
The first week was terrible. I was bedridden with the worst migraine I've ever suffered through, and no amount of advil or tylenol would help. Once it started to die down I had difficulty sleeping for another couple days, with headaches that continued to come and go.
Now it's two weeks later and I feel energetic and frisky again. I can't find any studies that coincide with my experience. Has anyone here had a similar experience? Are any of you currently an energy drink addict?
