    New Job at Chrysler!

I've been working at Chrysler as a Mechanical Engineer for two years and I was just informed this morning what my final rotation will be before I get into the CIE Program (fingers crossed). I have worked in Vehicle Integration on the 500 Abarth, last year I worked in SRT Dynamics specifically on the Viper chassis, engine, stability management, and traction control, and my last rotation will be Chassis Dynamics where I will be modeling the kinematics of a platform, analyzing verifying on a computer, then validating it on the track! After this year I should be more than prepared to model the CB chassis with what I'll learn at work. So I'm pretty excited as you can tell. I'm very fortunate to get the rotations I've had. I guess the work I've done paid off because it looks like I'll be permanently placed in Chassis Dynamics which is the whole reason I went to college. I designed the Fiat 500 B-Spec race car two years ago and it was hugely successful and I did pretty good work last year with the Viper. So stoked!

So, with your enormous influence and engineer smarts can you finally make Chrysler something besides the joke of the big three?
    MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

Lots of DIY videos specifically for our car

Get some awesome wipers! <-- It's a DIY

Aren't you funny... I just so happen to think a bit differently. We have a pretty awesome lineup. It's funny when people say big three, Chrysler is tiny compared to GM and Ford. I think last year GM sold over 10 times the vehicles? I'm happy with my job, being a Dynamics Engineer for Chrysler is the only reason I went to college.

But I'll pull some strings, kick Sergio in the ass, let him know whats up! lol

I don't think he has any influence on that, that's a seperate division.

You're thinking of the R&D side.

He works on vehicles already designed, or so it seems.

No it's at the tech center. I develop prototypes. CTC is the only facility in the automotive industry where raw materials can come in and a fully functional prototype comes out. We even have a manufacturing line. It's the second biggest building in the country, 14,000 people go to work in one building every day.

Is this the giant building at 75 and 59?

You have a Dart? 1.4T I hope? If so check out modernperformance.com. They are the leaders in domestic 4 cylinder cars. I spent thousands on them back in my Neon days. They are working hard and getting some solid results.

Mopar also offers some stuff if I remember, you would have to grab a catalog. I haven't dealt much with Dart and back when I build my B-Spec racer there weren't any mods on the market, everything had to be custom made.

There's been a Mopar package for years... It's a dealer option through Mopar. Turns your Wrangler/Rubicon into a pickup.

As far as a specific model I don't know and if I did I wouldn't be allowed to talk about it. The best part about my job is not being able to talk about it.

So all the hard work paid off. Just accepted my offer from Chrysler and I will be starting late May, early June! Moving to Motor City permanently and then Ill really have the funds to work on the Honda. Plus I will be done with school. What will I do with my weekends?

I hope they're going to pay you well to live in Detroit! Probably the only city in the country worse than Camden, NJ!

Just don't abandon the CB for some POS Chrysler...

Yea, they are starting me at 31.25 an hour, plus benefits, and and 2500 for relocation. It's also not in Detroit btw, about 20-30 miles north. I have too much invested in the CB to get rid of or stop working on it, but with that said, the only reason I went to college was to be an engineer at Chrysler. I don't want this thread to be about EO quality, but I love almost every one of our products and would own it if I had the money. There isn't another Japanese car I would buy new right now except for the super cars. I plan on buying a first gen 300SRT or the new Cherokee once I get settles in for my daily.
