    I go across the border all the time. You absolutely need a passport. The enhanced ID (drivers license plus in canada) can also act as a passport. I've never heard of the tire thing, but there are a fuckton of scanners you have to drive through at the border.

      I guess an RFID scanner should be next on my Arduino list.

      27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

                      Enhanced IDs for me are $45 a piece. Passports are somewhere in the range of $145 a piece.

                        passport has RFID in it too man. schools are now embedding them in student IDs for tracking and access control

                          They give you a cover that's supposed to protect it.
