Bought a car....haven't seen it...don't know what to do with it

Title sounds wired.....but I bought a car on a spur of the moment deal. Me and a customer were talking....he did how he sold a cutlass for $100....I told him I'd buy any car for $100....then he said his dad has one he is trying to get rid of. I asked what........1972 corvette, I asked the price, he said, asked if its got a title...he said yeah...so I payed the man, and sent the roll back to get it. Iam fully expecting a yellow, ps/ non air car to show up, as that was most common. I know the car is worth alot more than what I paid for it, and iam totally expecting a bad bird cage, and rusted frame. Iam not to worried about the body....it's just fiberglass.....but if it shows up and is nice.......I have my self a new toy..........so excited

It showed up. Yellow with tan interior. Looks to be complete. The interior is a mess. Iam going to get it on the lift this morning and see if the frame is good. The car had a tarp on it, so the birdcage is solid, and the body mounts seem to be also, from what the guy who picked it up for me said ( he's had quite a few corvettes he restored, so I trust him) ill see the car in about a hour, and then decode it, make a few calls to see where I stand with it, and go from there. Figured the $350 I paid for it was worth the gamble

I don't think the guy knew what he had. Yes he knew it was a vette, but the rubber bumper ones are not worth much, and tons of them are for sale in running condition cheap. Just down from where it came from there is a 81 for $2500 and it's been for sale for years. So I guess the guy thought it was the same car, just in worse shape, and he thinks the rear wheel wells had rust. So I knew he had no clue about the car except the name.

              Pics?

              What engine, 350, lt1 or ?

Nice find. I used to have one myself, about 20 years ago. Mine was a black stingray, 350/5.7 L and was OK.

Sold it for $8500 in 1994-1995, don't remember exactly. Nice find, good luck on the build though,.

I still haven't had time to go see it...but the guy that picked it up for me wants it. Unless it decodes to be something special....it's not going to be my project. I got a 65 t-bird project...I just bought it to flip since I know a fair amount of corvette guys

Finally got to see it...with a flash light. Body seems in good shape, decoded as basic 350/auto, a/c power steering...nothing fancy...seats are torn up, floor covered in god knows what. 3 of the 4 tires hold air. Under the hood its missing the carb and alt. so far so good....look under it....it is some form of grassy,
Rusty mess. The frame is shot from sitting on the ground where it sunk. Tag was last regestered in 94. So I cut my buddy a deal on it, and walked off with $1500 in my pocket. He has a early c3 frame, so it was perfect for him. He will do what he dose with most of them, swap the frame, strip the paint, box all the parts up, and take it to the auto fair in charolette, where some one will give him way to much for it.
