    anyone into diesels?

my friend has 3 vw tdi's, a powerstroke 7.3 and a 95 cummins and i think im starting to get an itch.

i want an old vw rabbit truck and convert it to the newer 1.9 tdi.

mainly shooting for gas mileage and reliability and if i want power, i was thinking of a cummins diesel. not too fond on working on a v style engine especially a diesel. v10 tdi toureg's look pretty cool but im trying to get away from vw's! lol
    I <3 G60.

0.5mm Oversized Stainless valves and bronze guides available. Pm me please.

Apparently all of Alberta is into diesels. I can't go anywhere here without almost getting run over by jacked up trucks or smoked out from red lights by jackasses with their clouds of diesel smoke.

i want to go chevy but honestly, i think thier duramax's are the only good ones they produced.

the older 7.3's and cummins 5.9 are strong but i don't want that old of a truck.

Yea if you want big smoky power the duramax is great. I'd prefer a much simpler mechanical diesel. The 6.2 won't get you anywhere fast, but it'll last forever with proper maintenance and updates, and get 20+ mpg in a 4000lb truck with the aerodynamics of a brick.

nothing beats a vw diesel. The car will rot away before the motor dies

According to a thread on here, yes.
I believe it was in the beginner section. Someone had acquired a 4 cylinder diesel and wanted to swap it in.

                          I've wanted a k5 blazer with a 4BT Cummins. With proper tuning i've heard of people getting 30mpg in a K5 blazer.

also, i really dig 87-95 diesel Mercedes.

Think you will find that was out of a late model Civic from Europe, and they wanted to swap it into the CB.
