I have the latest version on my Dell Latitude....
I also have it on my desktop in the Garage...
but my main PC is still Window$.
Sometimes it has issues, like not recognizing network cards etc....but there are a lot of people willing to help you out in the ubuntu forums.
For Android devs its great because you can use gpart which is a disk partioner and is awesome....can't get that kind of functionality in Windows.

Very very awesome OS. I've been using it full time on my laptop for over a year. It seems to have slowed down a bit, but I've also been filling up the hard drive.MRT

Youtube works fine for me.
I do occasionally get weird development problems. For example, when I try to connect to Network Solutions to update some websites, it only works occasionally.
I also have issues writing code (Java, C++), but I use Remina Remote Desktop to go to my windows computers.MRT

Try walking like that for a few weeks and see if your shoes wear funny! (hint: they will.)

What's wrong with your distros guys? Everything I've found online works just fine. I even got Aleks to run.
First problem I encountered, solved easily.
