If you don't play games then Ubuntu is one of the easiest Linux OS to use. I got it triple boot with Windows 7/Leopard/Ubuntu.

I use it for my livingroom PC, works great. Easy to install, easy to use. The only thing I suggest is getting VLC for movies and another music player (rather than using the default apps).

I have the latest version on my Dell Latitude....

I also have it on my desktop in the Garage...

but my main PC is still Window$.

Sometimes it has issues, like not recognizing network cards etc....but there are a lot of people willing to help you out in the ubuntu forums.

For Android devs its great because you can use gpart which is a disk partioner and is awesome....can't get that kind of functionality in Windows.

Very very awesome OS. I've been using it full time on my laptop for over a year. It seems to have slowed down a bit, but I've also been filling up the hard drive.

I use it as the only OS on my computer at home. It works for everything I want it to do. I have had some issues with getting flash to work properly in Firefox, which means youtube problems.

                  Youtube works fine for me.

I do occasionally get weird development problems. For example, when I try to connect to Network Solutions to update some websites, it only works occasionally.

I also have issues writing code (Java, C++), but I use Remina Remote Desktop to go to my windows computers.

Flash and Firefox is a no no since version 6. It's up to version 15 now. Even in Windows it crashes all the time. Internet Explorer is now more prefer than Firefox by surveys. Firefox should have kept it simple and the bugs don't bug you.

And google chorme is more secure. I use ubuntu for school now (as I am trying to migrate to using full linux now) not only that you can play games on it as well being there are some ports you can use to do so. I currently run PearOS (ubuntu derivative) and it works wonders for me!

I used to be a big IE user but switched to Chrome. I'm trying to get my brother to switch from FF to Chrome but he's set in his ways and stuff; whatever.

I have a mini dell laptop, and it says if I update the software I will delete everything. I'm using the same ubutu w/e u say it. Pretty much I can't really watch flash files like from hulu.com or something.

What's wrong with your distros guys? Everything I've found online works just fine. I even got Aleks to run.
