    Electric motorbike

So i go to pull into my local Best Buy because my brother said they had Final Fantasy 4 for the PSP on sale for only 10 bucks and end up parking next to this thing.

Thought it was pretty bad ass because they replaced the mother with four yellow top optima batteries. I didn't get to see who the owner was because i was in an out real fast but anyone who walked by it said that was pretty sweet.

The only thing that made me wonder was, aren't those batteries heavy?

yeah, haven't opened yet though. I also found Dragon Quest 9 for 10 bucks, i've been wanting that one since it was released like two years ago. I still want 5 and 6 but i didn't see those at the store or online.

Those batteries weigh about as much as a normal battery. I guess it depends if you think a normal battery is heavy.

I wonder if if they need to plug that thing into a trickle charger at night or anything?

Regenerative breaking recovers some electricity, but yeah you need to charge and keep it in good condition, drain the batteries and they may not come back. I'll be he can go 70+ miles before needing a charge. EVforums if you really want to get into it.

nah, the only bike i'm into are mountain bikes. I just hope my neighbor didn't mess up the frame or the spokes of the front wheel because he had to cram it into his car after the bike rack broke when he was transporting it to Indiana. I had a gut feeling something stupid was going to happen too after he broke the cord to my weed whacker when i let him that.

I wonder why you couldn't just fab a bracket to run an alternator off the rear wheel? Then you could recharge the batteries off of that.

The electric motor would still turn the pulley, that turns the rear wheel. Its just the rear wheel could have another gear on it, like a mountain bike, and then run a chain or belt to an alternator on a bracket.

                          Viola!

The only place i could see the driver fitting one on that in the picture is if he puts it in between the seat and that inverter box or something right there where the fuel tank would be.
