That'd be interesting, but far too complicated for most, I think.
I'm thinking more along the lines of dangling a stuffed animal from your tow hook, or drilling holes in a stock bumper to "reduce drag" (legit on a race car... lame on a stock street car! ), or even the rusted hood. Something simple, that any stupid kid can do... just to see if people actually follow our lead!
Then someday in the future, someone can do a Google search and find this thread, exposing that everyone following the new trend was doing it to be cool, when the originators of the trend essentially did it to laugh at them for it.
So it has to be easy, cheap, and "cool" enough to draw interest... but not so interesting and creative that it actually IS a good idea!
Maybe a simplified version of the stitching idea... perhaps colored zip ties stitched into a stock bumper. Zip ties that don't actually hold anything in place, but give the look of a zip tie repair job (like the drifters do when they tear a plastic body part.)
