    What do dreams mean?

Last night I had this dream. Well, two dreams:

First: For some reason I could see my timing belt. It seemed like it had cracked rubber evenly along the entire thing, and when it spun the rubber acted like little flappers. Idk. The next one is better.

Second: I talked someone into suicide.
She was a daughter of a rich douchebag that illegally got his money. She was an annoying blonde that kept hitting on me. Somehow we got up to a ledge of a fourth story building. It was actually the school building I'm about to go into. If you go to the top floor, it opens up and you can see all the way down to the bottom. I talked her up onto the ledge, but she was taking forever to jump. I started to get antsy, then my alarm went off. I decided: "What the hell, why not? The alarm is going off so that means it's a dream." I used dream powers and a last push of persuasion to push her off the ledge. As she was falling, I looked over the edge and my view flew into her eyes. Since I had accomplished my goal, and my alarm was going off, I ended the dream.

What does this mean? Can I kill people with my mind now?

Nothing. It's our mind creating a story with small details. This story normally comes from things you think about on a daily basis or subconsciously.

It's the same way you plan out a fun evening with the fellas ahead of time. The only difference is your mind is more relax, and the story can be seen (sometimes) and walked through.

Have you recently woken up from a coma or taken a hard hit to the noggin? If so, you could have developed telekenetic mind powers. o_O

        1. Your car is going to blow up!

        2. I find it really hard to believe that you could talk anyone into doing anything. However, I could see suicide being the only solution for anyone who was locked in a room with you for more than an hour.......

Want to try something fun? Want to initiate lucid dreams? Try SBaGen or Brain Wave Generator. Ive been messing with binaural beats for a while attempting to invoke lucid dreams, OBE's, enlightenment. Its better than hallucinating.
I like using BWG but I have an android port of SBA on my fone, theres a lot of presets on the web some work some dont. I try not to read into the descriptions too much so its not a psychosomatic response, Ive had good luck with plain delta waves, sleep for 4-5 hours and feel like Ive slept a solid 9 hours plus it knocks me out before I even know it. The trick is to realize right before youre about to fall asleep and keep your brain awake, thats when the cool stuff happens.

Dreams dont mean anything. The method used by the brain to transfer memories from the short-term lobes to the long-term lobes is very inefficient. The brains sensory system is always active and desperately tries to make sense of this information due to the fact that your other senses are essentially offline. This is why your dreams are randomly relative to your day.

The average person dreams six seperate 15-minute dreams per night, in real time. Most are forgotten instantly (side effect of memory transfer = dream information is made up by your sensory and is never stored in long-term lobes) unless you decide they really mean something to you, in which case it will be held in your short-term lobes long enough to avoid deletion.

The best dreams come when you wake up in the morning and then go back to sleep for a short time (30min). I still remember vivid dreams I had 20 years ago, for some reason.

I often wondered why some people have re-occurring dreams while others never do. Personally I have never had the same dream more than once, always different. The mind is a visual making machine.

Good responses people. I can usually influence my dreams by thinking about what I want to dream about before I go to sleep. I'd say at least 50% of the time my dreams become lucid.

                        Interesting topic.

I have a few dreams that I've remembered for years after having them. Sometimes I'll have a dream that seems so real, I wake up in the morning and wonder if that actually happened.

I'm 26, and I can remember parts of dreams I had in my early-mid teens.

Then of course there's the dreams, which I guess are nightmares which cause you to suddenly wake up. I don't have those often.

I'm a very deep sleeper. The house could burn down around me and I'd probably sleep through it.

The strangest sensation I can recall while sleeping is having the feeling of falling faster and faster through pitch black. It feels like a straight free fall, going faster and faster and faster until it becomes so fast I suddenly wake up. There's nothing that happens beforehand that I can recall that brings on the falling sensation.

As for thinking about things before you sleep that might induce dreams about them. I can't recall a time where I've tried that and it worked. But then, we don't usually remember dreams, so I guess I can't say whether it does happen or not.

I hate when I'm lying in bed trying to go to sleep and my mind is running 100 miles a minute. My body is exhausted and wants to sleep, but the wheels in my head keep on turning with random thoughts and ideas whirring about through my mind. Makes me restless because I'm trying to get to sleep, but my mind is still awake and active. Once that stops though, I'm usually out for the night.

It takes a bit of practice, and doesn't always work.

                          As for waking up suddenly.....
I sleep rather close to the ceiling, and once or twice I've had a dream where I was being crushed.....

                            That's pretty crazy lol.

I can only recalling falling out of bed once during a dream. I didn't wake up when it happened either. I just woke up in the morning on the floor tangled up in my sheets.

I still remember that dream to this day. For some reason I was in a compactor/bailer, very similar to the one I had at work at the time. I was trapped inside and the top started coming down. I starting beating on it with my fists to no avail. Then I remembered my legs are very strong. Like press 1200 lbs strong. I started pressing or kicking upwards, and awoke to the sound of cracking drywall.
