    Super sciency stuff!

    I have this:

Which I will add to every tank from now on until I run out.
I'll compare the results to last years MPGs, and see if it yields better MPGs.
    Yay (rough and non controlled)science!
    MRT
37.5 MPG, AC on, cruising at 80.
30.0 MPG, AC on, aggressively driving around 90.
27.5 MPG, no AC, cruising at 90 with occasional gridlock. 40 degrees Fahrenheit

Lots of DIY videos specifically for our car

Get some awesome wipers! <-- It's a DIY

I work at a parts store too. We're running a special and I got excited and bought the biggest and best.
I'm glad I know a fair bit about cars. Mine just left me stranded. If I didn't know better I'd think adding this would've been the culprit.

If you want to see if it really works, soak a carboned up part like inside of an intake manifold, fuel injector, etc; in a bit of the cleaner. Should lift any crap off the part overnight.

I am using Chemtool injector cleaner concentrated (ie not diluted in a tank of gas) to clean 8 fuel injectors for my truck. I have a service kit on the way to rebuild the injectors once they are clean. After 6 hours of soaking in the cleaner, the fluid has turned from a dark amber color to black. This is without agitating the contents of the container at all. I'd say it works.

But I don't want to disassemble my intake bits. My main goal here is increasing my MPGs, because they go down so much every winter.

I use ONLY Lucas brand fuel system cleaner (aka upper cylinder lubricant). I don't notice any mpg improvement in either vehicle but then I use it one tank every oil change so logic says I maintain a clean fuel system and shouldn't notice much "improvement", just more for preventative maintenance.

Does it work? Absolutely. I'd been using this for about 10k miles before swapping the h23 intake manifold on. When I removed the f22 manifold and peered at the intake valves they were shiny bright with absolutely no buildup. I'd say that isn't what normal 180k mile valves look like so my conclusion is this stuff cleaned up my valves and anything else between the gas tank and valves. I've continued using it for the last few years every few thousand miles and have had no issues.

Use spare parts. I have 3 F22A1 intake manifolds on my scrap pile I could choose from. Plus a dozen of spare injectors from Accords.

your MPGs go down in the winter like everyone else. This is due to winter blend fuel, increased idle time from warmups, more fuel used at startup due to harder cold starts. Nothing out of the ordinary.

My average MPG usually decreases in the winter from 30-31 to 27-28.
