pretty much. maybe its just the areas we live in.....but its like 70% of the crotch rocket riders here in my area that drive like dicks and expect us car drivers to watch out for them. pffft

See at least someone understands me. Yes, here in NYC, the crotch rocket guys are the ones im referring to. Every morning when i drive to NJ, at least one of them(usually on the Brooklyn Bridge, where there is NO room for error) passes between me and other cars to the left or right.

From the start my argument has been that the motorcyclists are worse then the vehicular drivers. Not all of them, but the ones im discussing.

I never said that motor vehicle drivers were perfect.

Of course there are moron car drivers.....heck a quarter of the truck drivers shouldn't be behind the wheel of a 80,000 lb truck.

Third- Let me explain my rational for handling motorcyclists.

As someone posted, the Harley/Big bike dudes have respect for the road. They have respect for their machines. They understand(because they make large trips on those bikes) that it will always be the cars world...not motorcycles world.....so to get respect, you have to EARN it. We are not going to just give it out because your more vulnerable. You chose to ride the bike, now ride it like a man and observe the rules of the road.

I grew up across the street from a Harley dude, and once or twice a week, 5 or so in the morning, he would fire up his Harley and rev it for an hour or so. He and his friends would do it.

Harley riders in my experience seem to love to make their bikes as noisy as possible. More often than not when I see a crew of them together they are eyeing the crowds in the hope of a thumbs up (instead of watching the fucking road).

I think jumping behind Harley dudes over crotch rocket riders is a mistake. A much bigger case could be made for Harley rider douchebaggery as the norm in that camp.

But the point is, and you might have addressed this in your post, never let anyone, Harley dude, squid, fake Lance Armstrong, dumb kid in a Civic, be an excuse for you to do something stupid. IMO, retaliating against anyone on the road, by tailgating, blocking, honking the horn, whatever, is unnecessary. I'd be lying if I said I have never done it, but I also would never say I was justified in it.

Meh, Ill respond to them later. We've disagreed on issues before, but they were always swept under the rug. We're discussing and taking care of them now.

The reason I came off as angry person is because I am somewhat angry towards this forum. 4-5 years ago I joined this forum as a 16ish your old kid that knew just about nothing (in life and in cars). This forum was the reason I dived into the car came, tore apart a bunch of cb7s and built one. I learned a lot mechanically from this place. But back then this place was full in intelligent, intellectual people that knew stuff about life and could actually give advice. Now, it seems the top 3 posters are: is an idiot who hasent seen another other than MI, thinks mental disorders are imaginary, a teenage kid who seems like does nothing but browse the forum and complain that he cant get respect from his older brother, and a guy who thinks all the dinosour fossils are made up on purpose, thinks its a good idea to buy a cheap POS for a job whos primary purpose is to drive.

Dont get me wrong, I dont think they are complete idiots, but just need to get out there and experience the world some more, expand their horizon or something.

I have driven at lengthy periods here in NYC, in Florida, Georgia and in between.

Of all the dumb ass things ive seen on a bike, 90% have been the Ninja guys.

Maybe it is different for everybody, but i wasn't saying that because one group is worse, then that group deserves to be killed.

No one deserves to be harmed, but............

When im driving i automatically expect trouble from guys on Ninjas....and usually im right......so when one of them tries to slip in between me and the car to the left or right, i slowly move over thus blocking them from cutting through traffic.

I like to think of it as keeping his dumb ass alive for one more day, because eventually he is going to get killed doing it.

Yes there are some drags on this site that we didn't use to have, but as has been posted before......as the platform(cb7) gets older, were going through a period now where we have a lot of young kids picking them up.

Eventually they will be so "old" that only real enthusiasts will remain.

Although, internet trolls will remain.

The only way to rid them is to make an example of them, but this was not the route of the staff here....so they remain.

Really there is nothing you can do, except ignore them, or just get over it....really the only two options we have.

So instead of sitting here and acting like this forum has gone down hill, just ignore those 3 and find other things to occupy your time.

The more flame fests consume this forum, the closer we get to getting the OT removed....because Deev has been adamant about the fact that this site is only for Cb7.....anything else is worthless.....so if we continue to fight and bicker about the trolls here, then eventually he will just close the OT which is a substantial aspect of this site.

My neighbor does the same thing except he does it at 5am on Sat/Sunday. Hes a nice guy though, so I doubt he does it on purpose. Probably the same as me coming home late at night, except I hold in the clutch so its quiet.
And I dont understand why you keep reciting your credentials. The harley guys respect the road? How? By wearing tiny skullcaps (if your lucky), and a leather vest. How is that showing respect for the road? Are they invincible from accidents? Do they not get road rash? What about the ones that ride around with those bluetooth cellphones, smoking a cigg, arms all the way streched to reach the handlebars on their choppers? is that not negligence, just like crotch rocket guys, teen drivers, etc...

Did you ever consider that these people are older and CANT ride crotch rockets? They're old people that cant handle being in that position. We're all men. We all get that adrenaline rush from speed (at least most of us). I asked my dad if he wanted to ride my bike. He said no because he'd probably wouldnt be able to control himself. The older guys just want to feel free. Riding gives you that feeling.

ANd please, please, please, stop trying to play God by trying to control what the bikers can do (thats what I meant when I said playing God, not life/death). People like you only piss them off and actually instigate a situation. You do realize that with a downshift and a flip of a wrist, they can literally be gone. We're almost always in our powerband. I know your talking about lane-splitting(which ive said numerous times is legal in some states and I think should be make legal in all major cities, especially during rush hour), but if I have a clear view of the opposite lane(2 lane rd) and pass on the opposite side of the road, its actually pretty safe given that the car dosent purposefully swerve. Thats why I mash the gas when Im passing. (I do the same in my car when Im passing a 18 wheeler to minimize the time spent next to them). Once again you "trying" to minimize that behavior dosent do anything, and most likely instigates it.

Umm, great way to start a flamefest??? I do only browse OT. I do it for the leisure. Its my "TV" time. I come here to maybe learn something new/odd, catch a laugh, see other peoples opinions on a matter, whatever. I usually dont even visit this place that often enough. Once in a while I just get hope that maybe its not as bad and i visit OT. For some reason your posts always stick out because most of them are stupid. Pointing out irrelevant shit that dosent contribute to the thread, being a grammer nazi, etc...And I dont really hate you tbh. I get the impression that you rannoying and need to do something with life, which is why I said that. Maybe you havent entered the prime years of your life (its cool, I wasnt in them at your age, and even right now, Im just getting into it). harleys are always loud. thats like saying a trans am isnt loud. i can care less if these harley riders smoke a cig while riding their tall ass monkey bars, wearing a tiny helmet, and a leather vest. that person can wear a hula shirt for all i care. as long as he rides proper, uses signals, and common sense....thats all im looking for. i ride a bit more careful around any one on a motorcycle. its just the majority of the time IN MY AREA crotch rocket dudes are complete douche bags. like ralphie, if i have to slowly speed up to block him in a bit so he wont cut me off at the last moment because his tiny bike barely fits in...then so be it. but im not going to floor it when he does. im pretty sure ralphie knows how to drive. he always shown (by what he wrote) he can predict a persons next move on the road. you know you are a decent driver when you can do that. you guys are getting everything completely crossed here
