    What's the difference between...

What's the difference between slow, quick, fast, and "Fast As Shit?"

How do you interpret the differences? What designates something (i.e. cars) to fall into the realm of the above stated?

The difference is quite literally only seconds......
1/4 mile times and 0-60 times are the basis that are usually used to determine the rankings for slow or fast cars.

    Something like this for 1320 times;
    13+sec = slow
    11-12.9sec = Quick
    8-10.9sec = Fast
5-7.9sec = Fast as shit (not to be seen in very many FWD cars)
3-4.9sec = Insanely Fast (rocket car fast)

Look it up on Google and you would probably get a more technical answer.

I've tried doing some searching, and I don't think I can find a straight answer. I've read that others' have read articles about this subject in Motor Trend, Road & Track, and Car & Driver, but nothing concrete.

A stock Z06 runs ~11.6 or so depending on different factors. If this is the case, I need to re-read the definition of quick and fast. I figured it would've had something to do with quarter times, but can't get a firm consensus. I'll keep shopping.

        Thanks for the input.

Those terms are all relative and subjective.

You can have a slow accord, quick accord, fast accord, and a "fast as shit" accord and it all could be the same car.

For a street car, 11 seconds is fast.

One word sum's it up - Experience.

If the fastest thing you've driven is a ride on Lawn mower, Then a 1.1 liter Lada Samara will be a rocket ship.

Yet if you've been in a rocket car, a Lada Samara will feel slow . . .

Slow - The slowest car you've been in
Quick - Quicker than the slowest car you've been in but noticeably slower than the Fast as shit car
Fast - Noticeably quicker than the slowest car you've been in, but slower than the Fast as shit car.
Fast as shit - Fastest car you've been in

Quick is a measure of time; fast is a measure of speed

Slow - anything you can beat.
Quick - leaps off the line, but doesn't necessarily have a high top speed it just reaches it's top speed more rapidly.
Fast - not necessarily great at the hole shot, but has a high top speed.
Fast as shit - anything that makes you use profanity to describe it's rate of movement as it passes or pulls away from you.

who drives a >10 second car. that isn't tubbed on a daily basis.

12 second cars will beat 99% on the road.
a 0-60 time is probably where its at unless your willing to do over 120 everywhere.

Numbers are numbers. The butt dyno and your eyes touching the back of your skull usually indicate the difference between quick, fast and fast as fuck etc.

I drove a new Lancer EVO GSR the other day. Yeah, it was fast with 291hp, but it didn't make me giggle with how was it was the way my friend's 300ZX TT and Skyline do.

This guy drives a 9.99 second car on a daily basis. Drives it to and from the track on pump gas. Probably uses racing gas on the track though.

I will admit that it is a bit extreme for a daily driver.

Depends on what my butt dyno tells me.

                            Slide = Normal
                            Slight squish = fast
Squish + neck strain = very fast
My tail bone hurts = OMGWTFBBQ fast
