I have, in my opinion, one of the most thankless jobs ever, a 911/police/fire dispatcher. We have to deal with people that are yelling at us, screaming for help, crying, wanting to commit suicide, and stupid things like barking dog calls and loud music. I also have to deal with about 10 officers all talking to me for 12 hours a night telling me where they are when they pull someone over, needing info about different things, etc. If I'm working the fire side then I have to deal with 3 fire stations (ambulances, engines/quints-the big fire trucks), all of this while still answering calls and multi tasking.
Without us though, no one would ever know who needs help, where to go, and all that good stuff. Dispatchers are pretty much always the LAST to the thanked, and the FIRST to be blamed. Anyone in law enforcement or fire departments knows this lol. It's nice to get some recognition every once in awhile
BAM!
