They effectively stopped someone that was trying to evade the police... they started it? That ricer is lucky one of those cops didn't just pull out his gun and start shooting. He was ramming police cars... essentially, that's assault with a deadly weapon. An officer could probably use lethal force and not get in a whole lot of trouble.

That wasn't drifting. There was no skill involved with what the driver was doing. He was merely doing burnouts into the cops.
The car would've been impounded and probably destroyed the minute they caught him anyway, so there was no need to worry about damaging it.

i didnt see a camera crew anywhere and those were either "extra" cars going by on that section of road or they just didnt close down the road to film. if i was a cop working there and witnessed that in real life and didnt know they were filming a movie, in all seriousness I would have called for backup and started shooting at the driver.

Even if this wasn't a movie scene (which I did not know at first), Unless that s13 could hit 1200FPS quickly (which it can't) they would still end up shooting you.
