Is it just me or do they only have Blockbusters in Poor areas

They closed all the ones around here... So you either have to drive to the hillbillys or get shanked in the crappy areas...

Redboxs don't carry alot of new releases same as netflix(studio imposed)... And I wouldn't buy a dvd....

Why do you think they're gone? Because of online streaming, downloading, and ordering for media on-demand. These companies don't have to pay rent or upkeep for individual franchises. Hell, since most content is downloaded off their servers, they don't have to worry about physical product condition or inventory loss.

I guess you could generalize and say there are more rental stores in lower income areas, since the demographic "can't afford" computers or internet connections, let alone online subscription services. I don't really buy this assumption, though. Classic movie rental shops are quickly becoming an anomaly.

Well man, when renting ONE movie at blockbuster is 5-7 dollars and a Netflix subscription is 9 dollars a month, plus you dont have to go out and get it, and worry about returning it on time. You do the math.

I have netflix... But they delay alot of new movies depending on the studio... I haven't rented from blockbuster/video store in probably three years due to cost/ lack of them....

netflix/redbox just has to figure out the delay thing with the studios

I did the location search on blockbuster and made my conclusions on this
              Lowell, MA 01850-1254 = Stab
              Lawrence, MA 01843-2818 = Stab
              Woburn, MA 01801-4240 = Stab
North Andover, MA = partial stab... Generally very nice area but I assume this store borders Lawrence
Nashua, NH 03063-1226 = mixture of hicks and illegals
              Lynn, MA 01904-2526 = stab
East Boston, MA 02128-1618 = stabbed multiple times

                It's just you.

There are plenty of Blockbusters in areas where you do not need to worry about crime.

Maybe if you left your town once in a while? Idk lol.

They're all closing down around here. The one down the street from me is selling all their stuff, and I just passed another (in a poor area) that is doing the same.

They are still all over Columbia SC. Oddly enough, I have been wondering when they are going to pack their shit and hit the road. The parking lots are always dead.
