no one can ever copy your car down to spec. sure they can get the sam rims, same lip, same paint color. but they cant copy the healthiness of the motor. nor can they replicate the blood, sweat, and tears you put into building the car. so in the end, all they did was bought the same parts you did. in this industry, its kind of hard not buy the same thing someone else did. someone, somewhere WILL eventually have the same set up you do.


if you wanna be different, make your car ugly with a crappy fitting body kit, hideous rims and a bright neon green interior.....well even if you did that, someone will have the same thing somewhere in the world.

I'd take it as a compliment, that someone liked my style enough to emulate me. I suppose it would bother me if someone saw my car and said "Oh, you did the same thing so-and-so did!" when the person mentioned copied ME, not the other way around!
Granted, I modify my car for myself... I don't care if it looks like the car across the street, as long as I enjoy it.

Unless you engineered the car, its not original.

I mean maybe some ideas people come up with are, but not really.

Forget about originality. Do what you think is good, and be happy with it. Everything we say, wear, eat, ect, is a copy from someone else.

^^This is why I don't worry about being copied locally. Also the scene here is so focused on stance and expensive wheels that I'm . But I do my car for ME.

Unless you're fabricating you own parts from scratch using a radical design, you are not original. Everyone is a copy cat except for those making parts that have never existed before.

roof visor, g square, red clrs,retroed headlights as long as ur part of a community of car ppl its bound to happen. i hate being compared to others, but what can i do? replica parts of the parts i tried hard to source are now being had easily which really chaps my ass. but in the end what are u gonna do? NOTHIN.

very good point the days of super rarity and "jdm" originality are gone by because of the knock off companies but all those parts have to have roots somewhere,

referring for the most part, to the aesthetic oriented parts.

i'd rather keep my CBs stock-looking and just end up blending in, in that sense works. and rather not stand out for bad reasons...

say altezzas and wings, which most of the CB's and CD's I see around here are just not tasteful.

When you look at it, look how many members are on this site. Look at the photos of everyone's cars.

They all might be the same car, but each and every one is unique in their own way, even if dozens upon dozens of them have some of the same parts and mods.

It's the limitless amount of creative combinations of parts and mods on our cars that sets them apart from each other.

you know you cant help it when you drive past someone and they look just like you. but you know you were the first one to do it and not feel any frustration.

kinda like getting a tatoo. usually people try to be unique on what they put on their skin, then someone stands right next to you and say "im gonna put that exact same tat on me" you can't help and think "i think you should get something else"

you're right on that though, i got two tats that im know many people have,of course one of them i was drunk lol but tell me you don't know at least two people that have a So*Cal tattoo? Or a motivated Marine Corps tattoo, but at the same time i got them without thinking i wanted to be like them i got them cus i liked them.

I know where you're coming from though, there are many people out there that have no sense of originality so they have to copy someone down to the bone to make them feel better just because someone else already did it, and therefore they feel accepted in some weird twisted sort of way.
