WOW, after reading almost entirely all 10 pages of that thread on H-T, i was able to sift through all the negativity to find some half way intelligent comments.

The firewall swap was done alright. Instead of hacking out the firewall like you did. You should've drill out the spot welds, and weld it back. You will regain the OEM structual, etc.
If the RHD firewall has a continuous bead of weld all the way around it, it could very well be stronger than the original....I do know that sometimes a welded joint is stronger than the actual metal on either side of the joint.
i dont know how you were planning on going about the firewall, but the quotes above seem like a a good choice for an alternative.

a firewall is for fire, not wrecks
    ^thought that was funny

How is this different from people who spend hundreds of dollars on a custom paint job, or Mugen wheels vice Rota wheels, or Recaro seats vice less expensive race seats, or putting a 98-01 bumper on a 94-97 Integra, ect, ect... It's called pride!
he made a good point. but i doubt this would pertain to this board. the main argument over on h-t was that he ruined "a perfectly good type r"...or "degraded the quality of a race bred honda" blah blah blah.

the point is, deev, can i call you deev, do what you like, and if you want your car to be rhd, do the damn thing. you obviously know the dedication required to take on this project, so do it if you are up to the challenge. i have faith in you!

Blind spots: What about blind spots in a LHD car? There are blind spots in every vehicle, and some worse than others, whether they are left or right hand drive.
    i agree.

just get the hatch up and running for daily use

    i support you 110% man

I say definitely go for it. I was seriously contemplating this a while ago. If I remember right, I made a thread anouncing my plans (much like this one ) I think it would be awesome if you did it. I feel that it is definitly a pride thing and to be unique. Deev, go for it mang.

After watching Starsky & Hutch, I have two words..."Dew It". It seems like it would be a pretty big task, but if it all works out, it'll be a really sweet mod that will also keep the sleeper look you got going.

whats so sleeper about a RHD? if it makes you stand out it isnt sleeper.

Sleeper as in the exterior of his car...and if hes got a passenger riding, whos really gonna notice its a RHD? Besides that I guess your right...still be cool though.

RHD will be unique looking while remaining more of a sleeper look than a kitted car, that's for sure. I'm getting away from the sleeper look though. I don't really have a theme. I don't want a kit, I don't want to go uber JDM, and I don't want to stick to the "clean" look that is becoming the trend (everyone is going stock! )

I want my car to be something I like to look at and drive. I like to hear what others think of what I have, and it makes me feel good to hear it when it's a compliment, but in the end I do things because I like them.

No need for that rant, really... that's leftovers from other boards that I mentioned it on (I was going to make it a surprise, but it's hard to find a board as helpful and responsive as this one!)

someday we'll have to have a meet in the very center of the country... Make it a 3 day thing or something, and get as many CB7s there as we can.

And I'll be autographing the book there
