you all are assuming that they are refering to black people as monkeys. I didn't take it that way at all when I read it. I took it as more like an idiot drew up the stimulus bill. Don't forget that George W. also had an economic stimulus bill.

you who take offense to that are the ones who are being racist.

you are being rediculous. do you guys know anyting at all about the chimp? the Famous, well-loved, perfect Chimp, who suddently went ape-shit, and got shot down by police? sounds a little bit like our president once he got into office, regardless of skin color. they are taking 2 current event issues and using them to make an indirect comparison at calling our president a monkey.

why do people think that means that the NYPost is anti-black? seems like only the racist "pro black" people see it that way.

and yes, this was a real comic, and i see nothing wrong with it at all. controversial yes, but wrong, no.

It's supposed to be a play on the old line "if you put a bunch of monkeys in a room full of typewriters eventually they will crank out Shakespeare"

It was in poor taste for many reasons, but aside from jumping to conclusions I don't see the direct connection between this comic and Obama. Barry barely read the stimulus plan; he didn't write it.

                              Exactly.

The comic is simply calling the Democrats a bunch of primates. It is not using the concept of "monkey" as any sort of racial stereotype.

People that get worked up about this comic are the same overzealous blinder-bound idiots that believe "reverse racism" is a valid concept.
Granted, the Post should have realized that there are far too many people like that in this world to actually understand the real meaning of the comic, and they should realize that anything that could be construed as racist towards our black president WOULD be interpreted that way.
