lol you might need a lot more than a terrabyte to download the internet. But here is what I do. Recently I got a regular 1TB hd on line for 80 buck (western digital) bought an external drive enclosure for about 20 bucks, put the two together and i was done. Its all plug and play. I had store bought hard drives fail on me before so Im a bit skeptical. Actually most of the time its not even the hard drive that goes but the small circuit board in the case.

i did the same, i bought a 100gb drive (back when that was big) and mounted it in an external USB drive enclosure. which within a few weeks (just after i finished copying everything to it) it burnt out and in turn fried the HDD circuitry, i had to buy a "used" matching drive on ebay to swap boards just to retrieve my data... made me very skeptical about the whole "unplug it and carry it with you" issue with a rotating, fragile HDD..

I know it might not be as cost effective, but think about using multiple smaller drives (three or four 320 GB Seagates).

If you put a terabyte on the drive, and it fails, you'll be A LOT more pissed than if you lose one of the 320's.
