Laptop backlight shits bed... New laptop

So yeah to add to the money pit of my car. Last night my backlight LCD for my laptop shit the bed. If I open my screen and close it it comes on for like 3 seconds then shuts off. I can still see the screen very lighty in the background. yeah lame

so I went to best buy/ CC and found the cheapest but a decent laptop. I'm loyal to HP but I went out and got this ACER for 399.00 it was the last one at bestbuy

not bad for a small laptop. but yeah it sucks cuz i needed this money for a tune or Kpro

you do realize that a replacement CCFL backlight is like... pennies compared to the cost of a whole new laptop...

New backlight usually means new screen. It's about 1/3 of the cost of getting a new laptop (usually 75-150 price range).

and not worth the hassle on newer laptops, cuz they have all those stupid lil screws and covers..ugh. lol.

the bulbs usually slide right out of the sides of the screen, and you can easily find replacements in any size and shape for any manufacture of screen... only thing is you need to take apart a laptop, and i dont know if youd be up for that wayne.

i just cant FATHOM buying a whole new laptop for just a blown bulb, SOOOOOOO not cost effective

HP laptops aren't that bad to take apart.

took me only 15 mintues to figure out i had to take the keyboard and the little control panel where the power button was to comepletely take a part the model Pressario M2000.
