that happend to dave colemans (sport compact car mag) sr20 swapped 240 @ the track. He came off the track and some dude was like y0 your cars on fire. He replied w/ I know its quick but come on... Then he realized his bumper had really caught on fire. lol. One of the funnier articles I've read.

Can be possible, run rich enough that your spraying raw gas out the exhaust and it ignites

FDs can run pretty rich... However, the amber on that tail light still looks like it's working. If that car burned, that bulb would've popped! Maybe not, though.

Thats what a bumper looks like when its burning. As for the rust look and spoiler on the car that part looks shopped in from a rusting car in a junkyard.

My friends FD caught fire..only it was because of oil leaked onto the turbo..and the whole front end basically burned down.

If it's photoshopped the guy didn't leave out any details. Look at the reflection on the hood of the camera car. You can see the burn mark. I think that rust is actually burnt melted plastic with a crispy coat of burnt paint making that rust color.

Could be. Maybe my monitor has shitty res? I didnt go in depth and pull it up on the big screen but sure. You never know I could be wrong. But didnt think a fire would burn through metal that fast unless thats part of the bumper. I dont recall how the rear of the fd is setup.

He just needs a new bumper and spoiler. The rest might be able to come off if hes lucky which i doubt. Def needs a slight repaint. but those rotaries do like to shoot flames. TRACK DAYS! At least you know why jdm people put a plate there if not just extend the tips past the bumpers lol.

That reminds me...I saw an 88 RX7 poppin flames out of it's exhaust the other night...I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

He did it twice and all you could hear was a loud pop and then flames shooting out the back.

I wish my Honda could do that...
