ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Toyota Prius Rear lip

So I was driving behind a prius today and kind of fell in love with the rear lip just a little bit. I thought it would be neat to get a hold of one and throw it on the CB. Maybe flip the script and put it on the front. Has anyone beat me to the punch yet so I can see how it looks before I start doing weird stuff to my car? There is a thin line between unique different and tacky different and I would like to stay on the cool side of things. picking up what I'm putting down?

Could be pretty cool, never heard of it before. I'd assume it'd require some bending to have any shot of it working?

I always thought that line was fat.

It looked like it was three pieces so I think I should be able to adapt and overcome to make it fit.
Now that I think of it, i guess you're right about the line. I've done some goofy shit to cars in my time that wound up looking pretty cool. I guess it all depends on who's looking and how they're looking.

I don't recall for sure, but I've worked on these before and I'm not sure that lip is a bolt on piece. I wanna say the bumper is all one piece, and painted body color above the molded lip. Something to look into though, it could look alright.

just checked ebay, looks like it is a bolt on lip. It's referred to as a rear bumper spoiler.

naw its 3 seperate pieces.. i've done quite a few PDI's (new car inspects) on those things at work.. Well now the new gen is out so they're different.

2 pieces on the outside could be heated up and formed to a cb bumper but fitment wouldnt be very great and i dout the center piece would be the right size..

def. would be interesting tho to see

I figured that the center piece was not going to fit, but I'm sure I can work around that by finding or making something that will fit in there. As far as the outsides, I know there will have to be some planing and head scratching to get them on good, but I've been tasked with trickier stuff befor. I'm going to try to mess around with it this weekend. I'll def post pics...even if it turns into a horrible mess. hey, you win some you lose some, right?

ive seen it and thought about it, but that rear bumper is MUCH smaller than ours. it would be too short, on all 3 sides... best way to verify things like this is carry a tape measure with you next time you are going anywhere that has a parking lot. i used to have our front and rear bumper dimensions memorized

I've actually had my tape out all day with that in mind. No customers have stopped into my store yet today who drive them. I've been out to the parking lot quite a few times to measure other peoples rides. I found a van lip that would fit...sort of, but it looked really cheap. This is a slow part of the year for the flooring business, gotta find something to pass the time.
