ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Inspection: Brake Lamp Light

So my brake lamp light has been on forever.. here's all the info.

All 4 tales work and brake lights work
    Reverse lights work
    Signals work

*3rd brake light does not get power
**I installed a spoiler and ran a wire to the third brake light but there is no power
***I'm now going to run the wire to a break light, which wires should I tap?

I'm getting an inspection and my main concern is the brake lamp light is on, but everything works, so is there a way to turn it off or will they even fail me for that?

    Thanks

its a courtesy indicator, not a malfunction light, as long as all your bulbs are in fact working, they should not fail you for that.

but it is a common problem for our cars to indicate blown bulbs when there arent any.

what you need to do is change some simple wiring in the driver side outer tail light, where the plug leads into the brown box mounted in the tail light. the White/Green wire should be connected directly to Ground (tap into any of the black wires) isntead of leading to the brown box. this bypasses the 'check' system and makes the dashboard think youre A-Okay.

Well I figured everything out because of the white/green wire you mentioned. I didn't have that wire so I looked at the haynes diagram and realized my harnesses were backwards from when I put in the red clears in. Now the spoiler/led is hooked up and everything is working properly. When I swapped the harnesses the brake lamp light went off but then came back on once I hit the brakes so I cut the wire and grounded it to the bolt and now it no longer is on. So everything is all set! Thanks for the help!
