ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

the ignitor in the distributor, its the thing with all the wires leading to it. either it went bad, or the wire between it and the ECU did.

yes you are able to purchase ignitors alone, much cheaper than a whole dizzy...

hopefully its just the ignitor thats bad

question, sorry to thread jack, but if one doesn't change the ignitor, is that asking to be stranded in a parking lot somewhere?

without a doubt... if its been acting up, its only a matter of time before you car stops starting.

that's the thing, i just checked for codes for no reason just to do something on a bored day and i threw 15. but it hasn't been acting up at all. it's just the code. i mean to get it handled but i've just been busy. just wondering how pressing an issue it is.

Do you have AAA or CAA? Because when it goes it may not be between trips.....Most likely it will leave you stranded on the side of the road between point A & B. And it will finally give out on you without any advanced warning. It just happened to me a month ago. It is a pretty quick and easy fix.

All you need is the ignitor (Ignition Control Module) not the kit / distributor & ignitor = $299+. There are a number of NAPA part numbers for the 2.2 the difference between them is the manufacturer of the part.

                    90-93 Accord 2.2L
                    ICM#1 ATM1482901 = $52.89
                    ICM#2 MPETP166SB = $68.99
                    ICM#3 ECHTP166 = $109.00
                    ICM#4 DEMDS10014 = $119.00 * Actual OEM part
(DEMDS10014 is the same ICM I got for my 96)

These part numbers are me assuming that your Accord is a 4th gen 90-93
When buying one of these remember that you get what you pay for.
