Yeah, they're usually pretty outrageous. I suppose they factor in the cost of the part, the cost of labor to pull the part, and then you have shipping... but it can be useful as a last resort!
I was shopping for a P28 ECU years ago, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't finding anything for under $150. My local yard (at the time) would sell me one for $15!
