I Finally Shot a Bird ......

But with my 20D and the Tokina 80-400 ..

It's a Red Tail Hawk, and he was knawing away on a pigeon ..
I got a few shots off before he flew away .. sux to have been that pigeon ..

Crop? Me? Heheheh .. uhh, yeah, it's been crooped .. he's actually sitting on a lightpole.
I cropped it out tho .. you know .. to give it that "national geographic" look ..
Thats a strong compliment man .. but uhh, I can't compete with those guys ..
Thanks for the props .. I'm gonna work on it somemore .. to bring out some red and yellow ..

No .. shot in AV .. f/11 @800, ISO 400 .. at 400mm ..

You missed out on my 300D that I sold on eBay .. went for 330 bucks .. they can be had
right now for next to nothing .. I love this new *used* 20D ..
Gonna get another for back up after the Holidays ..

I miss my old Tamron manual focus 70-350. What a great lens...even if it DID weigh 4 pounds!

Nice shot! I'd love to get something like that. Unfortunately, the only gear I have capable of a shot like that is my old Minolta MF gear, and I just don't use it these days. I should break it out at some point though. It's hard to argue with a Minolta X700 and a Tokina AT-X Pro 70-200mm f/2.8!

Amazing lens .. So many people wanna stick with OEM lenses, or *L* glass ..
My Tokina 80-400 is about 4lbs also .. lol .. who cares! The thing rawks with the right light.
And I've never been one to believe that the equipment makes the photographer.
I've always believed that the photographer makes the image ..
