Here's some from the last local (STL) show I shot. The headliners are friends of mine and asked me to shoot, so I just went ahead and shot the whole show.

lots of research. the iso performance appears to be about the same as the 6d. some sources say the 5d3 is better and some say the 6d is better. either way its a big step up. and the other features of the 5d3 were more needed. dual card slots and the far superior AF and the fact that the 6d is made of plastic. kind of decided i could spend the extra bucks and get something a bit more robust.

Yeah, I've shot with a III a couple of times, and the focus system is really nice, especially compared to the II. With my II, I pretty much just leave it on the middle focus point and focus-recomposing, but occasionally I will completely miss the focus.
Does the III have the noise banding issues at high ISO? I also guess I didn't know the 6 was plastic, but I've never held one.

not at any iso id be using... its pretty stellar up to like 12k iso. mk2 af is a joke. the af on my 5d classic is the same system but functions so much better. honestly thats what made me buy a new camera. i never really loved that camera. i couldnt live with out my 5d though.

I had a local knifemaker make a set of three identical folding knives as Christmas gifts for my grandpa, my dad, and I, and he had one that was very similar already made for my uncle. The blades are Damascus steel, and the grips are (I believe) maple, but I could be wrong, but regardless I couldn't be happier with how they turned out:

I really need to get a decent macro lens, as these are taken with my 17-40 and 28-135. The last one is my least favorite, but it shows the spine cuts of the knife pretty well.

I find myself eager to learn more about commercial style small-product photography, so I had to try it on my new phone when it came in:

I'm not sure that I'm digging the shadow .. then again, a white phone, on a white BG ..
I'd try that with a black BG. Ehh, I guess it's one reason that I never delved into High Key.
Even with my models .. I dunno, I've just never seen the use in allll white BG's.
To me, it always looks as if the subject is "floating" .. nice phone though!
