Correct. It does take alot to light up a car for a nice picture. I belive cris uses about 3. i think 2 of them are 580exII's.
i'm so glad i have a real deal flash, makes taking pictures alot more easier and makes objects stand out more with sharpness, contrast and color. its amazing what a flash can do to ones picture.

Gotta pay to play
Photography is all about light and when all you have to add to a scene is the output of the built in flash, you're going to be severely limited (sooooo want an SB-600).
Also, I got in my new lens today and took a few shots with it. I feel like I need to get my skills up the level of these things before I buy any more. I'll try and get some decent shots up this week. VR is amazing btw.
