I just breifly looked over the specs and it seems this camera is just like the Pentax k2000 plus a few small bells and whistles...

A few things that would bug me:
-White color; this will certainly draw attention to you and your camera. Ask anyone that shoots canon L series lenses, attention to your $1k+ kit is not a good thing.
-You cant see your AF point selection in your viewfinder, which with any kind of portrait work is very inconvenient to take your face off the vf to change af points.
-Lens selection; Pentax has some really good quality film lenses, but alot of them are manual focus lenses.

Its really just a middle of the road DSLR with a cool paint job. Would it make a good beginner camera: YES. Would I buy it: NO. I would be looking at future lens purchase options, quality of glass, accesories available,...

        Good luck!

          ooOOooo Shizznet .........

That thing would be so dirty in about the first hour of shooting lol ..
Never would I own anything so bright as to cause that much attention to me .. and my gear.

Like zelseman says .. nice n sexy .. but, you could do so much better with the money ..

            yeah, dirt might suck...

they have other colors, 100 color combinations actually.

            and some special edition ones.

I am just getting into DSLR's....my DSLR-like Fujifilm is getting old. I want to get a good collection of old lenses and also a good 18-250mm autofocus lens. From what I've read, this camera is better than the Canon T1i in terms of photo quality; HD video I may take, but rarely.

The main draw is the price and the in-body stabilization system; which means, I can use some wicked ol' school lenses.

here is a very in-depth review: REVIEW LINK

sooner than later, I shall have this, maybe, hopefully, we'll c.

the white one is still soooo appealing! LINK

Pentax camera's are really good camera's but the only one I would ever buy would be the K7.

Especially if you dont need the video, and you want to use it as more than just a big P&S, a Canon 40d would be a much better investment. However, you wouldnt be able to carry around a bright obnoxious camera. haha
