Its all workin with the layers of the picture its not just a tool. it takes some work. Haven't used photoshop in awhile but i used to be able to do it. Ask visualpoet he did it with his.
You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

      1. Setup camera on a tripod
      2. Take picture of car with hood down
      3. Without moving anything, open the hood and take a second picture
      4. In Photoshop (or any editing program) open the two images
      5. Copy the "hood open" picture and paste it on top of the "hood down" image
      6. Set the transparency for the "hood open" picture to 50% or whatever you think looks good
      7. Erase everything from the "hood open" picture except the engine bay (and even part of it if you want to keeep some of the hood in the shot)
      8. Voila!

You can do the same thing with a door or trunk or anything that opens and closes.

GIMP is a free alternative and there are TONS of tutorials for it. It functions basically the same as PS.
