I think that beginners buying brand new equipment is a bad idea.
Normally, youre going to accidently bump into something, drop it, stuff like that so I dont know why more people dont start out with slightly outdated used stuff.

^^ my thoughts exactly. Best advice in terms of cost and learning. Find a used camera on craigslist (make sure you find out how many shutterclicks it has because they usually last up to a certain point)
Learn composure, learn your terms and settings -- then move on from there -
