How are you going to be firing it? Off camera on or on the camera's hotshoe?

I should have the F4(non is) version on my front porch tuesday. Im stoked.
And as for a flash, check out the Vivitar 285 hv for an off camera flash. Cheap, durable, and powerful.

ralphie just a word of advice, id look into the 30d or something, maybe even a 40d as u will outgrow the rebel line and the 10/20/30/40/50/5d series feels more professional and substantial..... just a thought.

Upgrade if you have maxed out your talent potential with that equipment. Im almost to the point of making the most of my Xti, then im going to a 5d classic. If you need a better feel out of your Rebel then maybe think about getting a grip. My gripped Xti feels as comfortable to me as a 5d.
