It'll pick up a lot faster with the windows up. Its basically riding with a parachute open, lol.well I've decided for now I'm going to take a usdm F23A1 short block I got today and drop in new oem k24a2 piston. It'll put me at 2306cc & 11:1 compression which should be good for 197whp. Mmmm, mo powa, lol.

What's the mpg? Next summer I plan to have my motor go through a full oem rebuild, but was also considering upgrading a couple things along the way. I was thinking a stg2 bisi cam regrind along with my h23 Im, dc headers and 2.25 exhaust. Would I have to also pick up the valvesprings and retainers to go with them? If so i might just go stage 1 because im in cali and emissions is a cockblocker. I'm not aiming to do a whole lot, just a couple drop ins if they're affordable ish. Will probably run pt6 for a while, or forever hah.Last edited by P5ylance; 08-22-2013, 07:04 PM.

You should be able to run the level 2 without emission problems as long as you have a good cat, good rings and good valve seals. I got some bad news on my pistons. They showed two sets in stock but apparently there was only one in stock so the refunded my money. I'm kinda glad though. I think I might go with some CP slugs.

That's the guy to talk to on choosing what components to go with. He has a great build with plenty of power. I have learned lots from 92accorn_accord.

If your heart is set on h22 pistons I'd go with h22a4 pistons. With the h22 heads having a 53.8cc combustion chamber vs the f22's 50cc, along with the .45mm taller compression height of the h22 piston (31mm vs 30.55mm) the 10.0:1 pistons of the h22 become 11.6:1 in the f22. To be noted aswell, pistons with high domes causes hot spots on the pistons which decreases the resistance to detonation which means less timing and more fuel to prevent it. This will make passing emissions very difficult. So a high compression with a fairly flat top or dish piston and some good injectors with proper tuning can build power and pass emissions all day. how do you think all these newer cars do it? Personally I think RDX injectors and hondata S300 units coupled with a innovative wideband hard wired to the ecu is the most cost effective way to go. I guarantee if I was to put a v-band where my header meets my exhaust and add a catalyst converter I would pass cali emissions with 11.5:1 compression.
