Hey, not really anything going on right now for updates.

I bought a 5 speed transmission the other day, so hopefully I can get that swap done this summer.

When I get home in a week, I'm going to make some small changes. Go back to my stock mirror, probably strip out the trunk, secure the sub box finally, and oh yeah...clean the car inside and out.

I've my my exhaust setup all spec'd out too, so I just need money for that.

I have a new TCU on its way from cp[mike] also, so hopefully that fixed my tranny problems until I can get this 5 speed in. I really want to go to the Chicago meet, but that won't be possible if the transmission is going to continue being stupid.

Thats good that you found the 5spd tranny man! I'm sorry about your tranny acting stupid! Whats the TCU? Transmittion computer? I already had to replace mine! I hope your tranny gets better so you can make it to the meet! Good luck!

Thanks man. The TCU is the transmission control unit, so yeah the transmission computer that sits next to the ECU. After I get this one I'm waiting for in the mail, it'll be the third one I've gone through.
If that doesn't fix the issues, I'm gonna have to dig deeper into the tranny.

Damn man, 3rd TCU? Is that including the one that was in when you bought the car? Thats alot of money...if I were you I would've done the swap along time ago! How much did you pay for each TCU? I paid $150 for mine...rebuilt!

Its the 3rd including the one I had when I bought the car. The second TCU I got from some sketchy salvage yard/shop for like 10 dollars, go figure..
this next one is coming from cp[mike] and it was $35. He said it worked perfectly when it was in his car from before the auto->5spd swap. So hopefully that solves the problem. I think TCUs #1 and #2 were a coincidence that they went bad so close to each other, plus I don't think the second one ever worked completely right to begin with.

I honestly thought it was you. Now that i think about it, it mightve been a sedan. If thats the case, it looked alot like Erok's car, but i think he scrapped that thing...

Youll like what i have coming. Its nothing spectacular, but i think youll like it.

Auto tranny is officially fixed for the time being. Thanks cp[mike] for the tcu!

L/H Axle shaft
L/H Axle seal
R/H Axle seal
Master cylinder gasket
Master cylinder cap & seal
Master cylinder reservoir
Master cylinder float
SS clutch hose
Slave Cylinder
Clutch Master Cylinder

That was almost all the cheap parts...now I've gotta get a clutch, motor mounts, shifter, and cables.

Give me a picture you want me to use, and I can. I can't guarantee it'll be done soon though. I'm pretty busy for the time being.



Today at the junkyard I got:

5 speed shifter cables
shifter basket, knob assembly etc all complete
manual pt6 ecu

all for $43.
.....and about 6 slices on my hands.

Now I just need a clutch, flywheel, and pedals and then some random nick-nacks.
