    Lynk : 1991 Accord EX

Now that I've made my cameo appearance in California, I'll show off my new car. I bought this coupe on December 12, 2006 for $500. At the time, it was completely stock, with the exception of a factory bra; I'll try to add the original photos soon. Here's what I've done in the last month...

    ENGINE:
    - AEM Cold Air Intake

    EXTERIOR: (Stock)

    INTERIOR:
    - Neuspeed short-shift adapter

    SUSPENSION:
    - Neuspeed/Koni Yellow Specials
    - Neuspeed Race springs (2.25" Front / 2" Rear)
    - Neuspeed front strut brace
    - DC Sport rear strut brace
    - 17" x 7.5" AMP wheels wrapped in 215/45-17 Kumho Ecsta AST

    FUTURE:
    - Rear disc brake conversion (ready for install)
    - AEM underdrive pulley set (ready for install)
    - Window tint
    - Poly bushings
    - Engine swap
    - Addco Swaybars

    Now for a teaser...

Thanks, Prez. The photo of two cars was taken yesterday afternoon, in front of my house. So, your weather was very pleasant to me!

Ghost, I lucked out on the color; heck, I lucked out on the whole car. A few months ago, I started looking for a '91 5-speed EX. A couple of prospects fell through, before I ran across the coupe, at $1250. That evening, the owner updated his ad to state that the car was a "mechanic's special," since it wouldn't run, lowered to $500. I was second in line for the car, and somehow the person ahead of me dropped the offer. So, after a quick tow home, I picked up a jump pack from the house, started the car, and drove it off of the tow-dolly.

Funny... I live in the Seattle-area, and my cars are "Seattle Silver" and "Cappuccino Brown."

OneOffAccord, I want to keep my car streetable; at 2.25" drop in the front, I'm approaching the limits of street driving. If I had a trailer, and this car was dedicated to the track, then I'd probably go a little lower... but I don't, and it's not, so I won't.

Thanks for the good words, guys!

Uhm... oops. We had a quick snap of snow on Monday. My tires couldn't hold a corner, and the nose found a '99 Subaru Forester's fog light.

Back in September, a new Prius clipped the driver's front quarter and went spinning off the road. Only four months later, I wreck it, and insurance totals. Looks like it's time for a carbon fiber hood and a new title!

Insurance bought the car for $3600 minus deductible, and sold me the salvage for $180. I'm going to need a new front bulkhead, radiator, hood, grill, and bumper struts. The repairs shouldn't cost me more than $1000, highly dependent on choice of hoods.

First piece of business was taking the sedan through emissions so that I could renew its tabs; I hadn't driven it in around six months. I'm going to check out a truck this weekend, since I need a transport vehicle for my motorcycle racing. Sometime in there I'll order the parts for the coupe and dismantle the front end.

I imagine that I'll have the coupe back on the road within the next three months. As soon as it gets a new title, provided that I've gotten a truck, the sedan gets sold.
